I deliberately didn't buy this CD. It was around this time and period I suspected that Williams used a ghostwriter. ---------------- Alex Cremers

The Natural is an oldtime favorite of mine. The heroic theme has since been copied and parodied like you wouldn't know. I bought Avalon on sight and it harbors some good things, mainly of the reminiscence kind. The album suffers a bit from high EQ boosting. In Awakenings the orchestra sounds more distant and muddy (our own beloved Shawn Murphy) but this score has some really beautiful sad themes just like the film itself. I recently bought Ragtime but only listened to it once so it's difficult to comment. I know that some people think it's his best. I sold Toy Story after 5-6 listenings. I did nothing to me. ---------------- Alex Cremers

What made the first time so good that the balance was positive??? ---------------- Alex Cremers

Is the first episode (pilot without Shatner) also from the original series? I voted for the OS because the futuristic Sixties styling still looks gorgeous. The main Star Trek theme is unbeatable. The unnatural Technicolor is a feast to my eyes. The hired writers were sometimes the best in their field. The Next Generation, on the other hand, ages not so well. ---------------- Alex Cremers

True. And how much of his own stuntwork will he still be able to do? Will they place Ford's head on a stuntdouble the whole time? --------------- Alex Cremers

Slow can be beautiful and daring. Isn't there anyone who will stand up against MTV and other shallowness. ---------------- Alex Cremers

The $1 million salary figure dates from more then 12-15 years ago. Hollywood prices have doubled and tripled since then. Especially with the Schindler's List Academy Award in his hands he's entitled to ask another number. 3 million, at least, is probably a realistic estimate. ---------------- Alex Cremers

The one with world fame is Toru Takemitsu who nearly made a hundred filmscores and numerous other orchestral works. The work Tree Line can be found on John Williams' The Five Sacred Trees. ---------------- Alex Cremers

Perhaps storywise but my point is that Das Boot renewed the style. And that's not only in my opinion alone. ---------------- Alex Cremers

I'm sorry, there were submarine films long before Das Boot, anybody hear ever seen Ice Station Zebra, or Destination Tokyo (1943) starring Cary Grant? Stefancos- I mean the Das Boot genre, the realistic, claustrophobic kind with handheld cameras and all! And not the old war movies where you have the good guys shooting faceless Germans. ---------------- Alex Cremers

LOL . Thanks, Stefancos, for chearing me up. Well, at least I knew I was going to be the only one voting for the end tune. ---------------- Alex Cremers

This has to be the least succesful poll in JWFan.net's history. Was I digging too deep? ---------------- Alex Cremers

Cameron lost it when doing Titanic and apparently never found it again. Perhaps Williams had a momentarily sixth sense when he refused it. ---------------- Alex Cremers

It may have fitted the bill better but I never really enjoyed the main title tune Williams wrote for Amazing Stories. It work with the images but emotionally it left me a bit cold. The tune heared at the end of each episode appealed to me more and has been on my mind quite frequently over the years since then. It also would make perfect logo music for Amblin. ---------------- Alex Cremers

The set as seen on the picture will only be made two weeks before the Episode III gets released. This joke was actually dead before it started. Now if the background was blue... ---------------- Alex Cremers

That's true. Das Boot started the genre and remains unsurpassed. And I've seen all submarine films before I ever saw Das Boot which I saw recently for the first time. I guess it makes me living proof that sentiment is no valid reason for preferring an older movie to a new one. When seeing the director's cut I'm sorta glad I missed the original release.

It seems Cameron has become a different director with other interests altogether. Oh, well... ---------------- Alex Cremers

What is James doing these days??? ---------------- Alex cremers

It's nice to have them both, sonically and musically. ---------------- Alex Cremers

When do you think Sony will release the UE of Ep II?

Rogue, what would you answer if you had a million AOTC copies stocked on your Sony attic. ---------------- Alex Cremers -
I have the other Gerhardt cover but would buy this too, much nicer. The other is really ugly. And so it never ends. ---------------- Alex Cremers

Who? me? Anyway, Kaminski not filming Indy 4? I don't think so, Spielberg is too much a fan of the man. Washed colors? Kaminski? That's Spielberg decision! Where was Janusz during Band of Brothers? Same washed colors. If you don't like the colors I hope your sensors can detect other qualities in Kaminski's cinematography since color seems to be the only thing you moan about. Look how he frames each set in Schindler (the little girl doing the throat slash gesture) or how the camera moves and takes you right amidst the soldiers in SPR. These and countless other breathtaking shots I didn't see in, let's say, The Pianist. I cannot understand that you think so low of this man. Do you really think his eyes washes out the colors? Do you really believe Spielberg wants to mess with Indy's color just because he liked their effect in SPR or MR? Soon, for the sake of bashing something, you'll be saying that Welles made Citizen Kane one of the poorest shot movies in history. ---------------- Alex Cremers
