  1. When I laughed I didn't notice that he wasn't in the best of shapes. I only laughed because it's a parody of Star Wars and every Star Wars parody makes me laugh. I can't help myself. It is the situation that is funny. Not the guy. Am I of the hook now for laughing? ---------------- Alex Cremers
  2. No, Saving Privat Ryan is overrated, Schindler's List is not. Don't you guys know a great film when you see one? Damn!!! That movie is packed with movie grandeur not likely to be easily repeated. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  3. Thank you so very much! The comments on that page are funny too. ---------------- Alex Cremers-who can't think of anything funny cause he's all laught up.
  4. Stefancos, My mistake! Ah, Dracula and The Fury, I always mix them up. They are written in the same period too. Both are released by Varese. And both covers have similar aspects. And I'm looking for an excuse for screwing up big time. Sorry for the blunder. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  5. Stefancos, wich one do you mean? The Fury Deluxe or the Original release? I have the original, with only 10 tracks, but I wouldn't decribed as mere crab. I think the LP was even shorter. If you talk about the sound thats being crap then also would like to know. In other words, what is it that you don't like about it? ---------------- Alex Cremers
  6. Well its a short que but responsible for bringing some of the magic into Star Wars:A New Hope. Booooom!!! After The Death Star is destroyed lushious warm strings are celebrating and at their highest peak we return to Luke and hear those famous words: The Force will be with you, always. If that climatic moment didn't give you some goosebumps then you are at the wrong forum, my friend. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  7. In my humble opinion the critics were rather mild towards RotJ. ---------------- Alex Cremers

Indysolo wrote: I think some good movies are still being made, it's just that most of the stuff coming out anymore is pure crap designed to attract teenagers. Stefancos wrote: Ummm...dude, that's how it's always been. You were just to young to realize it. MOST of the films made in the 1980's were forgettable products designed to make money, same for the 90's, same for this decade (whatever it's called) It's just that we tend to forget those films, and remember the ones that ment something to us. Stefancos- who does not believe that "things were better in the old days." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They were, Stefan, they really were. Before and in the seventies producers and film studios weren't aware that their largest potential audience were teenagers. So the market wasn't as targeted then as it is today. I've seen a very interesting docu on this subject. It mainly spoke of the 3 big corporations that are controlling the entertainment world. (spooky sh*t, i tell you) Today, artistic risks and directors' freedom are the biggest deseases studios fear. A movie like THX 1138 with a pessimistic concept and made by a nobody wont see the light of day now. Who wanna see that? It failed big time too but I'm glad they did make it. It is also striking that alot of the classics and wonders, film or music, were born between the mid- sixties and the mid-seventies. When in doubt look in every film or pop encyclopedia. The list is endless. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  9. The moment when the mothership flips over in CE3K the music seems like a energy beam sending its power to every corner of the world. Taaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back then, in the theaters, nobody was breathing. I was there. Pure Spielberg magic like only he can deliver. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  10. Show me that picture next year and I'll still be laughing. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  11. I found one for TPM besides Darth Maul appears at the door. We all now that brass is kicking butt. It's another one with Darth Maul this time jumping off his speederbike attacking Qui-Gon. It is Williams at his most super. A full blown orchestrated climaxing que repeating a theme that's only been used once not too long before. It is truly a musical highlight and one of the few cinematographic moments found in TPM. You'll find none of the sort in AotC. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  12. Star Wars, A New Hope. The death of Ben witnessed by Luke who's going "Noooooooooooooo!!!!". A very emotional, dramatic rendition of Princess Leia's Theme (dunno why but it works) crushes even the most heartless viewer. But there is no time to mourn because the impact of blaster shots are all over the place. No funeral, no long pathetic death scene. Here was this great man and now he's gone, like it didn't mean zilch, zero! How Star Wars can you get. Of course, him returning as a ghost wasn't so Star Warzy. But hey...that's me. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  13. Indysolo goes: In Star Wars , when the Falcon first goes into hyperdrive and we cut immediately to the Death Star. Neil -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What about the music, Neil? Can you tell us more? --------------- Alex Cremers
  14. Uncle Owen: "Luke, I'm shutting down for tonight!" You hear a French horn playing the theme of the Force. Somehow that moment is what Star Wars is all about. There are many more but I can only name one. --------------- Alex Cremers
  15. I dunno. Who's the jury? Is Williams going to listen too? What's in it for me? So many questions... ---------------- Alex Cremers
  16. Amusing options. I have casted my vote. By Jupiter, let them be sold separately! Know that I shall not invest in mediocrity. No more. ---------------- Alex Cremers-who wishes Raiders gets a nice restored print that's truly razor sharp unlike some other old Spielberg classics.
  17. I voted for the last option too. Not a difficult choise to make since I only liked the first one. The others were garbage just like the last three episodes in the SW series. With the decision of making yet another Indy, Spielberg shows that he's losing his touch. He wants to give people what they want and that is "Indiana Jones kicking butt". Harrison is getting too old for the job. Still I hope Spielberg pulls it off. I know Williams surely will. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  18. Neejahalicon, Why don't you get the real thing? I mean, eBay, shops, second hand stores, during traveling... . There must be something you can do. It not so rare. Some folks really ditch this sort of music without shredding a tear. ---------------- Alex Cremers
  19. I might... try this. Not... sure... yet. Must...know...more. Aaahhhh... ---------------- Alex Cremers
  20. Frosty asks: How would you do it? First of all I would hire a damn good screenwriter. Someone who sticks out or really got noticed in the last 10 years. I wouldn't trust my own writing skills. I would tell this man that, if my storyline is b*llsh*t , he should stand up and have the courage to say so, even though I'm this powerful director. I would make it very clear that I dislike people who are agreeing to everything I write. If I found out that my choice of certain actors could have been better(but it is too late and they have signed a contract for three films) and they gave me a wooden performance, I would simply ask them why their faces seem to be completely paralyzed and how we could improve on that. I would make changes in dialogue on the spot if I feel that they sound forced and unspontaneous. I would think twice of using so much computer generated images knowing that they actually will be outdated in 10 years when computers have become a hundred times better and faster. But already I know that I will redo all CGI when that time comes. Especially the characters will be totally redone, so don't get attached to them too hard. Oh yes, I would hire John Williams. He's good! ---------------- Alex Cremers
  21. "This Trilogy went to crap a WHILE back. There is not point in trying anymore. Personally I don't care if Lucas expands N' Sync's role in the next SW film to include a full fledged musical number with hunderds of CGI muppets. " LOL . And the funny thing is you almost expect it and wouln't be suprised if it did. (or is that a sad thing?) ---------------- Alex Cremers
  22. Actors like Lee and McDiarmid need little or no guidance on how to act. And that's what you need these days when you are working with computer generated images and have Lucas for a director who merely gives basic instructions. Hayden also did a pretty good job, I think. He showed some emotion and striked me as a normal young man who has to face difficult times and choices. The only thing against him is the script dialogue. Temuera Morrison as Jango Fett has the honour of being in the best scene of AotC when Ben visits him in his room. For me it's the only good scene in that movie, period. Damn, I wish George could maintain that tension a lot more then he did. Sometimes it seems so simple to make a decent Star Wars. We need new blood! ---------------- Alex Cremers
  23. To the guest Most posts on this board concerning George Lucas feel like this: However your posts, mystery guest, feel like this: 8O Cheer up or take your angry feelings elsewhere. --------------- Alex Cremers
  24. I once asked 4 year old kids which characters they liked and surprise...surprise...Jar Jar is hardly on their list. Think about it. He's not even funny to 4 year olds. Then what is his purpose? They do like a good lightsaber duel though! But that too was absent in AotC. What's left? --------------- Alex Cremers
  25. Indysolo wrote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know exactly what's going to happen. Baby Han Solo's spaceship will crashland on Kashyyyk and he'll be the only survivor. Then he'll be raised by the Wookie's, just like Tarzan! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOL And Kevin, It helps if you stopped caring for Eppy 3. There's no more hope for that one. Not since...hmmm...I wonder....
