  1. Outer Range episode 3 Still watching. The show reminds me of something Damon Lindelof would make. I'm getting strong The Leftovers vibes. I wonder if a search on google might acknowledge my feelings? Searching .... googling ... ... Yep! I'm not the only one!
  2. Funny, I never even bothered with the soundtrack. I have all the previous Indiana Jones scores but they are all a bit too gung-ho for my taste.
  3. Time traveling has never led to something good. Even the episodes of Star Trek: TNG that took place in the virtual '40s were the weakest of them all.
  4. For me the best quality of The VVitch (sorry, Koray) is not the acting, not the story, not the film directing, but how utterly real the settings felt. And this was before I knew historic accuracy is important to Eggers. I did not experience the same with The Lighthouse (it's just a rock with a lighthouse on it) but, who knows, maybe Eggers' Vikings might strike me as so believable they drag me into their world.
  5. Outer Range I watched the two available episodes on Prime. It's watchable. The show seems to focus more on setting and the supernatural mystery than on its characters.
  6. The Batman (2022) The Batman starts okay but somehow becomes bad the moment Cat Woman enters the story. Everything feels like a long episode from a bad TV show. I bailed around the 90 minute mark. I've heard that it even gets worse after this. Bring back Snyder!
  7. Shyamalan's first day, first shot Knock At The Cabin:
  8. Gaspar 'Irreversible' Noé latest movie Vortex: That's a TV series, not a movie, Alex.
  9. Funny, someone pushed the vibrance/saturation slider all the way to 10 and suddenly people say it looks good. It doesn't!
  10. The film's biggest flaw are the two baddies. These two characters should have been better 'fleshed out'. The DC did not help in that regard. Perhaps their story should have started sooner.
  11. I first saw the Theatrical Cut and to me it felt like Orlando Bloom's only purpose was to look good. That's why you need to watch the DC, it adds more substance to ... well, literally everything.
  12. Wow, people really disliked Dunkirk. It's number 36 on the list. But it scored higher than Interstellar!
  13. The jokes, the hit music, the Guardians ... are we sure James Gunn isn't one of the writers?
  14. Okay, that's your personal vision, Thor, but to me, and most other people, Bad Boys III is an American, not a Belgian movie. Of course, when Michael Haneke makes a movie, it's a Michael Haneke movie, but I feel this is another issue.
  15. That's the first time I hear of this. So Basic Instinct is a Dutch movie? Beverly Hills Cop IV is a Belgian movie?
  16. What is Scott's reason to include an intermission? A jokey reference to the epics of the '60s?
  17. For Phantom Thread, I count three American production companies, one Chinese, and one British (Joanne Sellar). So yeah, mystery solved. It's a Chinese movie!
  18. It was voted best British film of the 21st century (see first post).
  19. I started watching that ages ago but somehow I didn't feel like it. After Carnivale, it all felt a bit déjà vu. I should give it another attempt.
  20. Under The Skin voted best British film of the 21st century according to critics poll (60 film reviewers) https://www.nme.com/news/film/under-the-skin-voted-best-british-film-of-the-21st-century-in-critics-poll-3203579
