  1. Black Crab (2022) Great setting, poor story, poor lines. But just because of the setting (frozen sea?), it needs an American remake, and this time done right!
  2. I rewatched episode 3 and liked it better this time. But it probably is the somewhat weaker episode of the season. I was fearing the story was going into a certain direction but it turned out that wasn't the case at all.
  3. My Brilliant Friend Season 3 Certainly as good as Season 1 and maybe the best one so far. Now the long wait starts for the final chapter (season 4).
  4. My personal favorite is: Good recording too, produced by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.
  5. Of course, some movies are too gory but I vividly remember that several members here were proud to report that, when they were toddlers, Alien and Jaws were their babysitters. I only saw Alien when I was 15 but that was because the movie was just released then.
  6. I don't doubt that. Heck, there's more terrifying imagery in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs from 1937 than in Avengers.
  7. Exactly. Children are by nature open-minded. The problem is that parents and TV are trying to push children into a direction which they think is suitable. In Belgium most parents think children should listen to K3. When I was young we didn't have K3, I listened to the music my mother and other adults were listening to. Same for movies.
  8. I forgot his name but a composer/music teacher once said in an interview that it's usually the adults that have a problem with atonal music (weird), not the little children.
  9. I just discovered that there's another Scorsese that I haven't seen (or maybe I just forgotten that I have). Anyhoo, it's a movie that rarely gets mentioned ...
  10. I was however annoyed with the terrible compression. I wonder if it's Prime or the movie itself. During dark scenes it was almost as bad as the blu-ray of Valhalla Rising.
  11. I want at least two joyful childhood tracks from Williams or else ...
  12. But that movie had a strange atmosphere and score. I didn't find that back in the sequel.
  13. I thought the score of Tron: Legacy was musically as banal or uninteresting as anything you hear on the charts. Then again, the movie was so bad that I couldn't watch the whole thing, so maybe they saved the best thing for last. Not a fan of Oblivion (the movie) either and I don't remember anything about the score. Note that even though my top 10 favorite movies consists of several sci-fi movies, I generally feel nothing for 99% of what the sci-fi genre has produced. Here are a few exceptions from the last 10 to 12 years. They are no masterpieces but they somehow managed to entertain me: Dredd (2012) Upgrade (2018) Ex Machina (2018) Edge Of Tomorrow (2014) Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (2011) Alita: Battle Angel (2019) The Hunger Games (2012)
  14. The Green Knight (2021) I liked it better the second time around. In fact, all scenes are good except for 'The Headless Woman' and 'The Giants' scenes. When it comes to actresses, I noticed that I'm much more impressed with Alicia Vikander than with Ana de Armas. Not only is Vikander more "my type", she's a better actress as well. She would be perfect as a replicant in Blade Runner 2089.
  15. In 10 year Tarantino will only be writing stage plays.
  16. In 10 years Tarantino will give the forgotten actor a small part in a movie and it will be the beginning of his comeback.
  17. A 10 year ban? This means Oscar baiters and perhaps A-list movie producers aren't gonna work with Will Smith anymore. He could always go to Europe and make movies with Roman Polanski.
  18. Be careful, Richard, it's quite popular here because of Marvel and Star Wars. That's why some will subtly defend Disney by saying it's not more evil than the others.
  19. In the series 'So bad that you keep watching': My guess was that it would have gotten a measly 18% on Rotten Tomatoes. I was wrong. It's 17%!
  20. No, I haven't heard the remastered version. I don't often feel that there's a need for remastering but this could be an exception.
