I dunno, my idea of an Oscar bait movie is The Mission or Gandhi. Silence, even though I haven't seen it, reminded me of those movies. So I have google for Scorsese's Silence + Oscar bait I will get zero results? Silence The Mission Know what I'm saying?

Nope. I thought it was a pointless and uninteresting remake which got more and more cringy towards the end. I'm done with Spielberg.

I don't have any affection for any of them, but honesty compels me to say that I haven't seen Silence, which struck me as Scorsese obviously fishing for Oscars.

Scorsese might have said Marvel movies but he meant superhero movies.

Under The Silver Lake and Southland Tales are nothing like It Follows and Donnie Darko. Just a minute ago, I wondered if I was the only one in world who thinks Under The Silver Lake is Mitchell's Southland Tales, and no, everybody sees it. This quote from a review on RobertEbert.com says it all:

I love It Follows but I was severely disappointed with Under The Silver Lake. Similar with Richard Kelly, I love Donnie Darko but was severely disappointed with Southland Tales. Under The Silver Lake is David Robert Mitchell's Southland Tales.

Just like Thor likes every Ridley Scott movie.
