First 4 eppies of TWD: The Ones Who Live

I'm pretty sure that Andrew Lincoln's main condition before returning to the Walking Dead universe was 'better writers' and a 'bigger budget'. And after 4 episodes, I can safely say that it seems that he got what he wanted. I'm just guessing of course.

PS: There is still too much filler though, like with characters telling stories to each other and such.

I can't watch every movie to see if I will like it or not. Therefore sources like RT or IMDb can be very useful. I don't think I've ever loved a movie that only scored a 3/10 on IMDb or 25% on RT, so why shouldn't I rely on those tools? Of course, if it's a movie from a favorite director of mine then I will watch it no matter what RT or IMDb are saying. But some unknown movie on Prime or Netflix? You bet I'm gonna check the scores!

    He was good in FLETCH.
STRAIGHT TIME is a woefully underrated film.

Here's Emmet Walsh as Dustin Hoffman's parole officer in Straight Time (1978) from Ulu Grosbard. As some of you might remember, Ridley Scott actually wanted Dustin Hoffman to play Rick Deckard in Blade Runner and I think this scene with Emmet and Dustin might have something to do with that.

I never thought about there being a person there either. Interesting. Great film score.

With absolutely nothing to do in a boring weekend, I tried to watch Gen V.

It was terrible. I couldn't get through the first episode. Abysmal writing and CW-level, shit-tier acting, which ruins a lot of shows that seemed like they have a good premise. Happens a lot with teen casts.

None of the characters are interesting, none of the plotlines are interesting. It's boring as fuck. It's CW levels of shit. If you cut out the gore and sex it's just teens talking about muh feelings and muh problems. I have better ways to spend an hour.

Unless you are 12 years old and never watched a Superman movie, I don't understand why anyone would be interested in seeing another movie about Superman (or Batman). That's why Watchmen was so refreshing to me because finally we got something else (in subject and style).

So what do you want to see in a Superman movie and that you think the world hasn't seen before?

Last week I noticed for the first time that there is actually a person on the Obscured By Clouds cover. It's one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums. These days I prefer the period between Syd Barrett and their big operatic/grand style albums.

I prefer TDKR over TDK because in TDKR I actually liked Batman.

It's very good but don't expect a 'man vs beast' movie.

Why silly? I think, this is a topic worth discussing. For me your example we always an evidence, that Goldsmith wasn't super fornd of when directors asked him to write something like Williams did for a previous film.
Goldsmith best efforts were achieved, when he wasn't asked to "do the Williams".
Alien, The Omen, Poltergeist, Patton, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, Basic Instict, Total Recall, Legend. For all of these there aren't any comparable Williams scores (at least none that existed beforehand). And these are all great.

But in all of your examples not only Goldsmith's scores but also the respective movies are inferior to the Williams scored movies.
So, it is not even in that regard Goldsmith fault.
Why write something super original for a pale copy of a movie (even though Goldsmith did that often enough).
