That's what's so weird because it made it impossible for me to enjoy the movie. I was constantly baffled at the choices (especially the faces being dim or underlit), like there was indeed something wrong technically. But then there are the screenshots on the internet that do confirm that what I saw wasn't a Netflix malfunction.

In fact, in Blade Runner, Ridley Scott copied Citizen Kane better than Fincher did in Mank.

Exactly, but it went nowhere. To me 'female power' became the focus, the goal. Drinking and pills couldn't stop her from becoming the greatest. She beat them all! And the show, entertaining as it was, lacks a bit of depth because of that. Even Rocky didn't win in Rocky. People seem to forget that.

I just bought a DAC, the SMSL M200.
Does everything I need. Didn't need that MQA shit that the higher end ones seem to spruik, so I'm fine with this. The reviews were good too.
I figured the price at AU$385 was fine.
