  1. I like the intention and the petition is well worded. I'm just cynical about such petitions. Can the authenticity of signatures be verified? It seems like I could sign it a hundred times with 100 different gmail accounts. If so, it might as well be a list of a million random names. And I just think surely, this has already been explored by Michael etc. So it's either a work in progress or it's not happening any time soon. No one on Williams team etc hasn't realized these are releases fans want. I don't mean to sound like a partypooper!
  2. The new documentary on Disney Plus "Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford" shows how much fun the actors and Steven had on set. It's really quite touching hearing more about Harrison's relationship with little Key Huy Quan. And there's a little footage from the Dial of Destiny recording sessions with Harrison giving thanks to Williams. I really enjoyed the documentary, and it makes me more excited for the Williams doc.
  3. No, this was the premier of the arrangement for solo violin and orchestra. And speaking of the concert, I think the piano trio version of Schindler's List might be my favorite version. I especially love it when the cello and violin play the melody together
  4. I remember around 1990 - I was 18 or 19 - spotting for the first time Williams Salute to Hollywood CD. I noticed that it had music from The Witches of Eastwick. I had only been really into Williams music for about a year and it was the first time I'd seen any of that music on CD. So I bought it immediately and I was with a friend who was like "Salute to Hollywood"? WTF?
  5. I like it! It looks like a treble clef! It's been so long since I wrote that word, I first thought it was "cliff".
  6. That’s exactly what I was thinking! Those Lost in Space scores are such gems. I saw the show as a kid, and listened to the scores about 25 years later, and I was so surprised that the music was so familiar - and not just the two main themes.
  7. Thank you! I'll echo the above - this are just so interesting! And a quick question. Michael said something like "We passed the idea onto John's people and they said yes." How many people does Williams have working for him doing admin, scheduling, fanning him and feeding him grapes in summer, etc.
  8. I just watched first few minutes and immediately liked the first cue. Looking forward to this!
  9. I don't think there's anything she's said or done that could lead to that conclusion. Have I missed something, or is that just a hunch?
  10. Later I'm sure. There was no mention of these earlier, and we did know that Han Solo and the Princess was one of the first batch despite not making it to the first album - also the Witches of Eastwick which she didn't have time to get ready for the reocrding. And just before Indy 5 was released Ann-Sophie said that Williams was writing more arrengements. We got Helena's Theme soon after, and she did imply there was more than one new arrangement in the works. Hopefully there are more as well as plans to record. Fingers crossed!
  11. After each concert, I always imagine Williams returning home after perhaps a few days of not doing much writing or none at all and returning to his piano with renewed enthusiam. Would love to know what his schedule is like leading up to a concert. Exactly how much time does he spend preparing beyond the usual rehearsals? And regarding the new Scherzo of Mortorcycle and Violin, I recently made a list of long long list of peices that Williams could possibly arrange for violin and orchestra. I never considered that a possibility.
  12. I just remembered a memory! The movie came out very spoon after I started listening to Williams on CD. I went to see a different movie, and Hook was finishing in a different theater as we were entering ours. I remember just being mesmerized by the music I could hear from the open door of that theater. It was I'm sure music from the last part of Farewell Neverland - The Christmasy joyous Mother theme. It had me mesmorized and I remember waiting a little bit before going into my theater so I could hear as much as possible. I think at that point I only had about 4 or 5 Williams CDs, and I got Hook as soon as I saw it in a shop.
  13. It helps, it Helps! So glad this has gotten a new arrangement. I remember thinking it must have felt left out and forgotten and sad and lonely after the other major romanticish Star Wars themes got the Mutter treatment. Can't wait to hear it! Please Santa, let there be a new album in the works. It doesn't have to be this year.
  14. Thank you. I just listened and yes it does. Wow, I've had the set for over 10 years and didn't notice that - well maybe I noticed 11 years ago and then never listened again. I think what happened was I was put off by the start to Farewell Neverland and I had always liked the OST and some of its specific tracks/edits like Presenting the Hook and The Face of Pan, and the clean start to Farewell Neverland. I think I just chose a few favorites from the first expansion - Exit Music for one, and then was content with the OST plus the suite Williams recorded, which I often listened to. Now I'm full on into exploration mode and wallking around for hours with my noise cancelling headphones as if this new 3CD set were the first expansion And hearing the songs and considering their beautiful orchestral versions, I'm wondering if there's a great score that could be drawn from Thomas and the King? Maybe??
  15. I would never have guessed this would get a 2CD release, but I love the score!
  16. I'm another who loves the melody, but the song.... The duet I prefer over the version with just Josh Groban. I just find it more listenable for the variety in the singing, but I really don't like the song. And just Josh's voice. I don't feel it's a good match for the song. Ha, Was Bryan Adams unavailable???
  17. I wonder if The Book Thief and perhaps Helena's Theme will be new arrangements for cello and orchestra? And I had thought that the previously announced new piece Williams intends to write for Yo-Yo Ma would be premiered at this concert - although no timeline for the piece's completion was announced. Perhaps it's not completed and maybe not even begun?
  18. I really really wish the liner notes were available digitally as well, but I'm a little lazy to do it myself, and without a scanner, they would be iPhone pics with light reflections and odd angles! The thought of them on my phone of Kindle where I can read them anytime makes my mouth water. I realize there's probably a reason they're not released digitally? But I think it would be a great way to help some decide to make a purchase? Maybe.
  19. Slightly off-topic as my question is about the first expansion. Was there ever any reason/explanation why Farewell Neverland started with a fade from near the end of The End of Hook? I always intensly disliked - hated even! - how Farewell Neverland started on that expansion. I reviewed the booklet notes, and the track description doesn't mention anything odd going on. And looking at the tracks and times from both, From Mermaids to Lost Boys is longer on the previous release. I haven't listened to hear what's differant? I assume the difference isn't music not on the new release Rant over! So happy that Farewell Neverland starts cleanly as God intended on this perfecto release.
  20. What? He's alive? Oh I think they probably mean one of his sons.
  21. He's sure written some great lyrics over the years, but strangly, I thought he wrote the lyrics for many more songs that it seems he did. One surprise.,,,I just saw on Wiki that he wrote... "What we need in the world today Is a guide for the married man" Had no idea they went that far back! Thankfully, when I listen to songs, unless I make an effort to, I tune out the words and just enjoy the musical elements.
  22. I had hot chocolate at one of those cafes last week. Delicious and cheap, and I honestly didn't associate the name with the word compose. How I missed that, I have no idea. Number 1 brand is I think a huge exaggeration - not true - but they are around and they're probably one of the cheapest. Around half the price of Starbucks!
  23. No, they said about a week or two ago that they had one more release for the year, and that turned out to be MacArthur
