  1. Good point...actually, that must be a modernized logo, since I don't recognize Elmo's female counterpart.
  2. Me too! I also have Star Wars, E.T., Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and Far and Away from the few Williams concerts I've been to. Totally jealous of Koray's JNH ones and Blume's Lost.
  3. In the midst of a Williams drought like this (or, in the face of his waning abilities, take your pick), it's nice to have someone solid like Giacchino writing scores for us to anticipate. Between Star Trek, Land of the Lost, and Up, it should be a great year for him! Ray Barnsbury - off to find the Up trailer...
  4. I've always liked this piece a lot. The movie is so dreadful that I don't really care how well the music represents it, and Dobby's theme is hardly used anyhow. 4.5 stars
  5. Hmm...what shall we call the new couple? Suliet? They have a theme, too. But I'm still in the Kate+Sawyer camp...they're just so right. I was breathless as she got out of the van. It'll be interesting to see how the love-square dynamics play out from here. Oh, and the statue!! How wonderfully horrible of them to tease us like that.
  6. Well done! If this had been around last year when I was trying to familiarize myself with the scores and learn all the themes, it definitely would've been a lot easier. Have you considered including the emotional variation on Ben's theme, at least as an extension of the entry as it is now? I know the melody line is the same, but there's a whole second phrase and of course, completely different harmonies that make it a separate entity in my eyes. Just wondering, as it's probably my favorite theme of the series. In any case, great job and it'll be nice to follow along as you make updates.
  7. I've done so when playing racing games or something similar where you don't have to concentrate too much. I have fond memories of listening to The Rock quite a bit while playing Burnout for GameCube.
  8. Yes. And I'm pretty sure that's not the only issue. Another random thought I had recently is that, with all the parallels between Flights 815 and 316 and the possibilites opened up by time travel, it would be interesting if 815 had also actually been an attempt to return someone (like Christian Shephard??) to the island a la "dead" Locke.
  9. I just had a look at the design Joe, and it's great...I can't wait to see the finished product! And yeah, I've thought about the polar bear ending up in Tunisia...it seems silly to imagine the bear actually moving the island, but you could be right about them just needing a test subject. It obviously was involved with the wheel room somehow. And regarding the island having moved before, my brother had an interesting thought about that the other night. Since electromagnetic energy seems to be the source of all the time shifting, and we know the Swan station was meant to prevent a buildup of said energy, it could be that the code and button were intended to keep the island from moving and traveling through time. And if that's the case, it would mean that the island moved through space and/or time right as Oceanic 815 crashed, and again at the end of Season 2 when Desmond turned the fail safe key (the weird light in the sky at that time was similar to the Season 5 flashes). I don't know what all that could mean if true, but it's an interesting idea.
  10. Along the lines of the classic Pirates ride being updated to include elements of the films, I read recently that "It's a Small World" at Disneyland has been refurbished to include various Disney characters in the different countries. This sort of thing kind of bothers me...such modern commercial entities like Nemo, Woody, and Stitch invading the beloved (reviled?) attraction after it's remained virtually unchanged since the days of Walt seems tacky and irreverent. They did the same thing at El Rio Del Tiempo, a little known boat ride in the Mexico area of Epcot that's been a sentimental favorite of mine for years. Donald Duck and the other animated characters from The Three Caballeros now swoop around obnoxiously throughout the previously relaxing and atmospheric ride. Bleh...I love the Disney parks, but they sure can screw things up from time to time. Er...to bring this back to the topic at hand, I suppose they could someday digitally add the likes of Dumbo or Peter Pan to the skies of Soarin'...
  11. Well, Locke has several themes, all of which were woven together throughout the episode. Without watching again, I can't say which one in particular played during those moments. For reference, two of the best OST presentations of his themes are "Crocodile Locke" and "Locke'd Out Again" from Season 1.
  12. Yeah....did Ben always plan on killing Locke instead of allowing him to hang himself, or did Locke's mention of Ms. Hawking for some reason push Ben over the edge? He got a weird look at that point.
  13. Me too. I ended up hungry instead of informed...
  14. Everest is awesome. And the safari can vary obviously, but everytime I've ridden it there was plenty of animal activity. Animal Kingdom has really grown on me over the last few visits; it has some of the best theme-ing in the whole resort.
  15. The parks are called Epcot (it's not used as an acronym any more, and they dropped the "Center") and Disney's Hollywood Studios now. I only know this because I'm a Disney World nerd. Ray Barnsbury - who'll probably always refer to the park as "MGM" regardless of it's official name
  16. Wow, John Williams is really losing weight!
  17. 5 stars...exhilarating on its own, and even moreso when experienced on the ride, which is one of the best Disney attractions in recent memory (though I've only ridden the one in Epcot). Hah! Isn't that near MGM Studios?
  18. I picked Jane Eyre...it's just so simply beautiful and stirring.
  19. That's what pushed me over to Monica's theme too.
  20. That's a good one that doesn't get mentioned very much. Lots of Western fun.
  21. Hmm, I've been thinking about what to use the rest of my iTunes gift card on, and Milk seems like a pretty good choice from what I've read here.
