  1. Here is what I wrote about the score at scorereviews.com. It's not a very well written review but you'll get the idea of what the score is like. ---- A highly enjoyable album with obvious nods to Mancini, Schifrin, 1960?s Williams, and John Barry?s James Bond. There's about three themes that I could notice running throughout the score. Now, who?s themes are these? I?ll have to wait to see the film to find out! At times the score is light and bouncy in such tracks as "Off To Work", "Lava in the Afternoon" and "Life?s Incredible Again." But in others we get full heroic action music with a jazzy, swingy touch in such tracks as "Bob vs. The Omnidroid" and "100 Mile Dash"! And the album ends with a fantastic end credit cue cleverly entitled "The Incredits." which is a perfect end to the album and features a full orchestral/ big band statment of the film?s main theme. I recommend this score to all and especially those who love a good old fashion throw back to 1960?s jazz influenced film music. -Erik-

  3. 168 page views. 6 entries. 2 correct entries for Sky Captain and 2 correct entries for Hero. 3 1/2 days to go before the contest is over! -Erik-
  4. But when it comes down to the villan I think you need a well known actor... maybe Hackman will take one more shot at Lex Luthor! -Erik-
  5. First review! http://www.scorereviews.com/title.asp?id=456 It's much better then the 3 star rating it got. It's a very clever and all around fun score. Very creative! If you love Mancini, Schifrin and Barry jazz then you'll eat this score up! -Erik- PS - It will be featured on my show next week!

  7. Looking at the demo reel, film music composers don't get much exposure on this channel either. It's like an alternate E! Channel or STAR TV. Lame! And when they do talk about music, it's the rock bands that get the air time and not the score composers (ie: Velvet Revolver on The Hulk and not Danny Elfman!) However, they do have a few composer interviews and in house score only music videos.... which is pretty neat. Anyway, I'd be interested in sampling the program but I doubt it will satisfy us hard core film score fans. -Erik-
  8. There is a very good reason why he is doing the Muppet Movie... which I unfortunately can't share with you... but trust me when i say that he works just as hard on those types of projects as he does with high profiled work like The Incredibles. -Erik-

  17. September 25th UPDATE: The On-Demand Show for this week is now on-line. Go to... http://www.geocities.com/cinematicsound/on_demand.html ...to hear ?Cinematic Sound's 8th Anniversary" program. On September 7th, 1996 Cinematic Sound aired its first show on C101.5 FM (CHMR as it was known back then.) So, this week you are going to hear a retrospective of the top 3 scores or cues of the year for the last 8 years. You will hear music from DRAGONHEART, STARSHIP TROOPERS, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, THE PHANTOM MENACE, PAVILION OF WOMEN, ROAD TO PERDITION and many others. 18. Jedi sounds a little better... but it's far from being as good as the Jedi Anthology Box Set sound. I suspect the Sony Classical releases contain the exact same mix and mastering as the RCA discs with a little tweak in the high ends. The Superstructure Chase still sounds horrible. If you already have the RCA discs... stay away from the Sony Classical releases. In addition, the wonderful liner notes from the RCA versions didn't make it into the "new" Sony Classical releases. -Erik-
  19. Was that sarcasm or do you really think this is a stupid contest? -Erik-
  20. I wish I could... but Giacchino, Tilton and the entire Lucasarts team would kick my ass if I shared any MP3's of that score. Sorry! -Erik-
  21. Not 100% accurate, or at least a case of consufing advertising. They are going to change that!!! -Erik-
  22. From the Academy-Award® winning team that brought you Finding Nemo comes the hilarious action-packed adventure about a family of undercover action heroes who, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world! Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Brad Bird (The Iron Giant). A musical masterpiece that captures all the adventure, drama and excitement of the film. Michael Giacchino, renowned composer of The Lost World: Jurassic Park and TV's Alias composed the original score. The soundtrack features 19 memorable tracks from the film. 1. The Glory Days 2. Mr. Huph Will See You Now 3. Adventure Calling 4. Bob Vs. The Omnidroid 5. Lava In the Afternoon 6. Life's Incredible Again 7. Off To Work 8. New and Improved 9. Kronos Unveiled 10. Marital Rescue 11. Missile Lock 12. Lithe or Death 13. 100 Mile Dash 14. A Whole Family of Supers 15. Escaping Nomanisan 16. Road Trip 17. Saving Metroville 18. The New Babysitter 19. The Incredits --> Great track title!!! http://disney.go.com/disneyrecords/Soundtr...bles/index.html You guys are going to LOVE this score!!! -Erik-
  23. So, Return of the Jedi sounds much better then the RCA versions? Does it sound like the Anthology Box Set version? -Erik-
