Muad'Dib got a reaction from Pieter Boelen in Netflix "The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance" Prequel Series!
I hope so! I recently re-watched the show and it still holds up.
It's great.

Muad'Dib reacted to Oskar in JW's Unreleased/Unrecorded/Unconducted Suites & Arrangements
Though not conducted by Williams and certainly not performed by a full orchestra, there is a recording of the revised Irina's theme on piano.

Further proof that Williams hates MG's guts and wouldn't approve his music appearing on this release!
(this is a joke)

Hey John, would you be interested in scoring a title piece for a new Star Wars show?
No way; absolutely not; under no circumstances.
Oh, did we mention that Abrams has left Lucasfilm?
Really? I would love to score it.

Cellist Cécilia Tsan posted on Facebook that they recorded with Williams on Monday, February 7th!
Posted Monday, February 7th, 10:46pm local California time:
"Happy 90th birthday to the great John Williams (February 8th, in less than two hours)!!! That photo was taken in 2019 at the end of the Star Wars sessions but tonight we were in the same Sony studios, recording his magnificent music again. We were all smiling behind our masks.
When he gave us the downbeat to play his piece we instead played "Happy Birthday" and he kept conducting!!! What a joy! What a force of nature! Truly inspirational."

"My goodness, this is so beautiful!!!! Thank you, Maestro!!!, Maestri, actually. Feeling incredibly blessed to have played under both their batons, Seiji Ozawa's in Paris and John Williams' in Los Angeles ( including last night!). Gracias a la vida!"

Cécilia added as a comment to that post:
"JW conducted last night? What did he conduct?
A tv project."

Muad'Dib reacted to mrbellamy in New article in The New York Times on John Williams - says he will soon step away from film projects
I think it is way, way, way too convenient to make JJ Abrams the scapegoat. I mean for crying out loud.
There are Williams quotes going back decades joking about not being able to hear music against sound effects. Obviously it's gotten worse along with all the music editing but I think this has always been a nagging frustration with him like any film composer and in retrospect I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of why he slowed down after 2005 as well, along with the reasons cited about deadlines and the time-consuming nature of the work. I imagine 2002 and 2005 also had their role in slowly killing his interest in the film industry, even though they were legendary years for us.
If anything, it seems to me his recent Star Wars experience was a pleasant one. He seemed to appreciate having the longer timeline with breaks. It reminds me of some of the quotes from Richard Linklater about Boyhood and that he wished he could make all his movies like that, because he found it a gift to be able to shoot for a week, edit, go do something else, come back with fresh eyes etc. From what I can tell JW loves the Abrams boy, even though I could allow speculation he found his methods and results exhausting.
It also makes me wonder if him not doing Ready Player One, for example, might have had more behind it than just not enough time. I think he at least might have been relieved to have a good excuse to say no to it.
And I also just think so much of this is him approaching and turning 90. New decades tend to shed light on certain things. It also seems that through the pandemic, he found he just didn't really miss film scoring too much.
I never get this mentality from fellow JWFans. I know you're as big of one as anybody. I can't take it seriously that you wish you weren't getting a John Williams score in 2023.

I think this film is incredibly important to both Spielberg and Williams

I'm genuinely looking forward to the film as much as I am to the score

Muad'Dib reacted to Jay in Official Lucasfilm tribute to John Williams includes comments from Michael Giacchino, Ludwig Göransson, John Powell, and Kevin Kiner
I love the end of Powell's blurb:
"I’ve said this before, having been privy to seeing a little of his process — I realized he is not, in some way, unusual or impossibly different from all other composers. He’s using the same techniques, the same rules, the same approaches as everyone else. He’s simply better than everyone else.”

A hardworking carpenter who loves nature, is kind to everyone, performs miracles, and has something of a cult around him.
Fellow disciples, Williams is officially a musical Jesus.

“The Fabelmans” has been particularly emotional, he said, given its importance to Spielberg. On a recent day, he recounted, the director wept as Williams played through several scenes on the piano."
Wow.
