So it can get stolen and passed around the trading city? Hell yes.

Wojo got a reaction from Trope in Why is a large part of the Battle of Yavin not scored?
Maybe the lack of music during the first trench run is supposed to highlight the fact that this run won't succeed.
In the final cut of the film, once Biggs' scenes on Tatooine and his reunion with Luke on Yavin IV were cut, Luke is the only Rebel pilot we know. Wedge has a name, but we barely met him before this battle. The first trench run pilots are all new characters and Luke isn't in the sequence. If they succeed, then Luke flew with them for no reason. He's our main character and has earned the right to avenge his fallen friends and family by becoming the hero.
In retrospect, the lack of music underscores the first trench run as a dry run for the audience so they know what to expect. Then when Luke makes his run with music, we know it will succeed even as his technology falters.

Wojo got a reaction from Trope in Why is a large part of the Battle of Yavin not scored?
The music disappears when Gold Squadron's Y-Wings and Red Leader make the first trench run. Vader's small TIE squadron picks them off and their run fails.
The music returns after about five minutes when Luke, Wedge, and Biggs reenter the story, and Luke's run is a success.
Truthfully, music would have overwhelmed the first trench run because of all the screaming TIEs and nervous claustrophobic chatter.
But more importantly, Luke wins because he has music on his side. No music, no success.

Wojo got a reaction from enderdrag64 in THE ORVILLE - Show Discussion
I think I'm just trying to see Talla as an extension or continuation of Allara without interruption. Allara had a pleasant air about her as a result of her youth, while Talla reminds me of a no-nonsense street urchin from the slums of New York or New Jersey, minus any accent. Maybe the rumors of Allara's return are true and that's making Talla a bit unpleasant in her performance.
The episode definitely telegraphs Orrin's intentions with his sleuthing and the suspicion the weapon agent is biological. I was almost convinced Gordon was sympathetic until Talla showed up. The ending was too abrupt by not showing the fate of the girl or the anger of the Krill in not having a prisoner to torture, but I'm sure they were just grateful to avoid being the fifth ship and knowing that was foremost on the O's agenda.
@Jay if you thought it weird seeing Isaac on the bridge with a handful of speaking words, did you also think it strange he was with the whole crew at the wedding ceremony in the cold open in, for a lack of better word, Ten-Forward? He did not clap but his blue eyes were there. Lidless. Staring. Like a doll's eyes.

Wojo got a reaction from bollemanneke in Harry Potter 7CD Collection - Pictures, unboxing videos, and art design / liner notes discussion
Jaws 2 is worth seeing once. As a a child, it was my favorite because the finish is quite spectacular, but I was a dumb child. It's worth it to close out the book on Scheider's Chief Brody.
3 and 4 are garbage.
Only 1 is worth owning on video format.

Wojo got a reaction from Positivatee in Lukas Kendall's Indiegogo—sci-fi short film
Did anyone receive their soundtrack CD yet? I was so excited to be getting a new Ron Jones album, then that fell through and I forgot all about it. It's one of two Indiegogo disappointments that I never received.

Don't call it a boot. Call it a high-necked leather foot warmer.
Maybe Paramount plans to sell an album entitled "More Music from Star Trek," featuring fifteen additional minutes of score, some dialogue tracks, special effects, and a Tiesto remix of the end credits. Oh, one can hope!

Wojo got a reaction from Yavar Moradi in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker (JJ Abrams 2019)
We watched Ep 9 last night for the very first time.
As prepared for it to be a smoldering dumpster fire, it had some genuinely good moments. It doesn't completely undo TLJ, it just reshapes some of that movie's story bits.
The entire trilogy is depressing because they could have been something special, but this movie probably did the best with what it had to work with.
I'm not keen on being able to beam objects using the Force between Force users. Maybe it's because they were a dyad? The necklace was annoying, but it was just plain cool with the lightsaber.

There's a TV cartoon series from the 80s that I'd like the music from. Ron Jones wrote for it. Quack a rooney, I just can't remember the show's name.

I like that the weapons do not break. No, the environment is not as interesting, and the lack of weather effects and FIRE is a let down. The only environmental penalties seem to be stamina drainers.
But the color scheme is adorable and the more varied set of monsters is appreciated. I like that enemies can inflict friendly fire damage on others that get in the way. Gliding is definitely more useful in this game, and being able to magically summon your horse, kill it, and resummon it again feels at home in the magical world.
I fucking hate the lasers.
