I reckon the books will have significant longevity as they’re written in a fairly timeless style and could appeal to an indefinite number of future generations. They’re certainly not as popular as they were 20 years ago in their heyday, but they’ll likely outlast their ancestors for the next few decades, namely the Enid Blyton mystery novels.
 
Kids today may not read them as the movies are still pretty recent in our cultural memory. But they’ll have a smaller but consistent audience in the same way Tolkien’s books did decades after their publication.

TLJ isn't perfect. It is however the only one of the sequel trilogy that tried to do something a little bit different, and interesting than just rehash the OT.
 
10 years from now it will be far better regarded.

I don’t think it was temped, they’re both in different keys for one, and “A New Home” doesn’t transition into Binary Sunset at all, it just ends.
 
I do think JJ asked for something in a similar vein; mysterious and magical. I though Rey was going to start the new Jedi Academy there or something.

Now I’m onto Reunion, and if those new renditions of the Main theme, Force theme, Poe’s theme and Rey’s theme don’t give you chills then you have no heart. Yeah it’s one theme after another (in between a direct lift of Yoda’s theme, and potentially a new arrangement of Brother and Sister, though I can’t be sure) but it’s Williams gold.
 

Ugh I can’t get over how much I love “The Force is With You”. The stunning rendition of Rey’s chimes theme followed by the subdued moment of sheer bliss as Rey looks into the stars and hears the Jedi calling to her. It’s fucking sublime and heartbreaking.

And then possibly my favourite ever rendition of the Force theme ever rising and rising to an incredible climax - the whole melody by the way, not just the first part.

The trio theme at the end is my fave. I’ll never get sick of violins gliding up to a high note like that. That sound actually does give me the chillz. 
 
Yoda’s Theme and Luke & Leia are ridiculous and make no sense but fuck it, it’s Star Wars, they sound great and I think it flows pretty well musically, the movie sucks anyway. I love that track.

IMO the first half of the theme is just OK in this rendition, but yes, the second half is fantastic, especially with that violin line at the end. Too bad it gets buried under sound effects in the movie.
 
 
That Rey's Theme statement plays sooo well in the movie, it sounds so happy and relieved!

The statement of Luke and Leia is definitely new, though it starts with the concert arrangement. It’s a beautiful moment.

It's glorious indeed. The first part of the Force Theme might be overdone but the second half got used so rarely during the ST. What a treat to get such an intriguing presentation of the entire theme in the final film, at the climax no less.
