  1. Today is the final voting day and we're neck and neck with one other film. Your support would be greatly appreciated! Go here to vote!
  2. I saw Logan tonight. I'll have to let this sink in for a while, because I haven't decided yet whether I like it or was disappointed by it. It's certainly violent. To the point of numbing the audience halfway through and robbing the climax of any weight. Good performances, though, with a stellar Patrick Stewart.
  3. Wait, James Cromwell is still alive? Hurray! Somehow, I thought he was no longer with us. I'm genuinely excited by this. Yay, James!
  4. If it's as bonkers as Temple of Doom, I'm all for it. But it won't be. It would need a proper score for that.
  5. Deakins' work on the new Blade Runner looks to be in a league of its own. But that doesn't mean the lighting in Prometheus isn't excellent.
  6. It started off really well. There's great production design, it's gorgeously shot and Scott manages to quickly and efficiently establish the characters and the world. Then halfway through, the film completely derails when a bunch of action scenes are clearly trimmed down and/or moved around from where they were supposed to go. These scenes, while shocking, seem to have no impact on the plot or the characters involved. There's about a dozen little mysteries set up throughout the film that are never resolved and the whole thing abruptly ends with the main character leaving to continue her adventure elsewhere with no resolution given. Then the final scene is the birth of an alien that sort of looks like the alien from Alien, but clearly isn't the alien from Alien (also, the Engineers' ship isn't the ship from Alien either - in fact, Prometheus isn't even set on the same planet as Alien), so what's the fucking point of including that? I was all for a cool science-fiction film directed by Ridley Scott that delves into the questions of mortality, man's relationship with gods and man's own creations, the origin of life etc. etc., but what's with the schlocky ending? Don't tell me this is supposed to be a stand-alone film set in the same universe if you're going to pull that and plant a dozen fucking sequel bait questions. It just left such a bad taste. When the credits rolled, I literally threw my hands up and went "wait, that's it?" Not looking forward to Alien: Covenant now (which has shit trailers, btw).
  7. They'll probably save them for the Blu-Ray 3D release next Christmas. Like with TFA. (and even then, it's doubtful we'll get to know exactly what the third act was originally supposed to look like)
  8. The one I linked to, you dolt! http://www.euregionshorts.eu/portfolio/district-24/
  9. A few years ago, I made a short film. You may have read about it. Now, this film is in the running for an online film competition. Whoever gathers the most votes wins, so I'm on a voter drive. And if you haven't seen it yet, this will be a great opportunity to check out the film. Go to this link: http://www.euregionshorts.eu/portfolio/district-24/ And cast your vote. After that, be sure to check out our awesome soundtrack on iTunes or Spotify. Cheers, - Marc
  10. I guess this means the bootleg industry of fan restorations will continue to be alive and thriving. Thanks, George!
  11. A heads up for those interested to read more discussion of the music as used (and unused) in the films: I'm working on a score restore feature for both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. Expect to see the first videos somewhere in the next month.
  12. The Lost World is probably more in demand, but I decided to try my hand at a write-up with Jurassic Park first. A first draft of the Jurassic Park write-up is nearly finished, so you can expect to see that one before I deep dive into The Lost World.
  13. It does, but it also has all the boring action music from Laketown and Dol Goldur that keeps going nowhere.
