  1. Nah. I'm kind of over The Hobbit. An Unexpected Journey is good, as is the first half of Desolation of Smaug. The second half of DoS is tedious and BotFA is just going through the motions. I like the BotFA song, though.
  2. The Abominable Bride is really good. I love the purely orchestral feel of that one.
  3. Jurassic Park is far less interesting, though, because most of the music appears in the film as is. The main thing to take away from Jurassic Park is that almost all the "scary monster music" featuring the carnivore motif was dropped in favor of either more adventurous music or just letting the dinosaur sound design speak for itself. And the movie became better for it. With The Lost World, restoring the dropped music really is like seeing a different version of the film.
  4. I've been working on it. Most of it is waiting to be exported and uploaded. I just haven't had the time to finish it and do all the write-ups. And I was wondering if I should do Jurassic Park first.
  5. Turns out this only happened on the version that Fox is streaming online. The second 12:30 clock showed 12:44 in the broadcast version. Web release: HDTV broadcast:
  6. Did anyone else notice how the pilot was likely shot to take place earlier in the morning? Think about it: - Carter comes home after what is presumably a night shift - His wife is in the shower, getting ready to start another working day - He offers to make her breakfast - The light coming through most windows comes at a relatively low angle (particularly if this is supposed to be noon) - It features a busy bus terminal, with commuters milling about - The very opening shot of the episode is of someone's unfinished breakfast Didn't spot any clocks on screen, though. Oh, and the little clock at the bottom of the screen turned 12:30 twice.
  7. I thought season 7 had some good bits and a great new character. But all the goodwill was completely squandered in season 8 (in which they also ruined said great new character). To make it worse, the (then) series finale tried to set up the movie we never got and the opportunity to tell that story in Live Another Day was wasted again!
  8. Almost. For this version, the 20th Century Fox logo and fanfare have been removed. Instead, the final notes of the ESB end credits play over the Lucasfilm logo.
  9. I wouldn't count on it. They're billing Star Wars as A New Hope, after all.
  10. Happy belated birthday to you, Mr. Williams. I'm listening to some of your work now. Just look at that smooth jazz man!
  11. Yes. This sets the first film apart. Bourne actually needs Marie and she helps him grow as a character. Damon and Potente also had more chemistry than Damon and Stiles.
  12. I've watched the first two episodes of 24: Legacy and it's still as bonkers as 24 ever was. Unfortunately, that's both good and bad. The pace is still as high as it was in the show's heyday and the first episode features two cool action setpieces. But it also means characters are still reduced to stereotypes and archetypes with motivations and actions that only exist to move the plot along and the show's politics are still stuck in the Bush era (no on-screen torture so far, though). If the season turns out to be good, it'll be a nice 12 hours, but I don't expect this to be a standout show (the first two episodes also offer nothing to make me believe it will be). If it turns out shit, at least it'll only be for half a day.
  13. Everyone wants to be second now. www.everysecondcounts.eu
  14. 1. Why start with the last four films? 2. Will the extended editions of PS and CoS be included?
  15. Cool! Any chance of reading the interview in English?
  16. Nope. To me, it's the moment the show completely bought into its own hype and started flaunting it. It became too self-aware for its own good. Before that point, Sherlock was the one being smart and telling us he knew it. Suddenly, the writers were trying to pull the same trick and it just became obnoxious (much like Sherlock to his friends). It's also from the episode that started the trend of season-long arcs where events from the first episode wouldn't be resolved until the third, breaking with the tradition of three separate stories. From here on out, each season was no longer a collection of great stand-alones, but another Grand Scheme you had to watch from start to finish. Although the show wasn't without its good moments (or even good episodes), it's still the point where the show took a turn for the worse and never recovered.
  17. Of course it does. I was asking if series 5 will have a scene of Steven Moffat physically kicking himself. It would be a whole new level of meta!
  18. I would have been fine with that. But kudos to them for shipping available items earlier, I guess. Huzzah!
