  1. I will, eventually, I just can't afford them right now. Damn you spending needs! - Marc, who wants to see the Indiana Jones trilogy in widescreen dagnammit!
  2. Dammit, Miguel, don't make me lose faith. - Marc, who cannot hear the file, but doesn't really care.
  3. Sweet. But what are Billy Boyd and Viggo Mortensen doing on the track listing? There wouldn't be any dialogue on it, would there? That supertrailer sounds mighty cool, though. But it'll probably be too friggin expensive for me. If anyone gets it, care to put it online? - Marc, who wants NO censored dialogue on his soundtracks. I remember all too well the horror that is More Music From Braveheart
  4. Huh? Aren't the original credits on the OST album? And yes, ESB has one of the best End Credits cues. - Marc
  5. IJ sounds like a great box set, but is hard to compare to TTT:SEDE. After all, TTT came out only last year, and there was already a lot of Behind-the-scenes stuff shot with the DVD in mind. But with the IJ box, they had to delve deep to find some bts stuff. From what I've heard, they came up with A LOT, considering the age of the films. - Marc, who has to pass on X2 and IJ to get gifts for his folks.
  6. Does it matter? I just like the music. - Marc
  7. I don't think it would classify as "the best", but I love the latter part of Visitor in San Diego and The Trek from TLW. And yes, those snare drums are awesome. - Marc
  8. New Line has set a new standard in DVD releases. The SEDE of FotR was amazing, and I'm sure the SE of TTT will be mind-blowing as well. Huorns at Helm's Deep! Yay! - Marc John Williams - Main Title/Approaching the Death Star/Tatooine Rendezvous from Return of the Jedi (SE)
  9. I'm gonna need a hacksaw. - Jack Bauer - Marc John Williams - Main Title/Approaching the Death Star/Tatooine Rendezvous from Return of the Jedi (SE)
  10. Go here for info on Suske en Wiske. Rikki is Wiske's brother. Rikki en Wiske is the original first story. Suske wasn't introduced until the second story: Op het eiland Amoras. Vandersteen dismissed Rikki with a simple joke in the announcement of the new story, that Rikki had left to get a "schoenbon", and had never returned. Rikki will return in the next story, which will be published next month.
  11. I know Jedi Rocks isn't by Williams, but it's absolutely crap to listen to when you're listening to a complete soundtrack. And it is one of the most emberrassing moments in the trilogy. Every time I watch RotJ and that scene comes up, I shrink in my seat, wondering what others in the room'll think of it. - Marc, at school, doing French. Blech.
  12. Yes, that's what I was trying to say. Without the sickening part. - Marc,
  13. For Always from A.I. Artificial Intelligence I just don't like the song. It's so over the top. For alwaaaaaaayyyyyys, for eeeeeeever. Blech. The pop-version of Can You Read My Mind? from Superman Seventies pop horror! Jedi Rocks from Star Wars: Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi (Special Edition) 'Nuff Said. - Marc
  14. If we all get the same amount, we're still as far apart as we were, we just boost our post count for no particular reason. Seems useless to me. - Marc, who is more miffed about losing his way in discussions than seeing his post count lowered, but knows it's no-one's fault. Anyway, if I lost maybe 20 posts, it's a new challenge to get them back as soon as possible without making silly one-line double posts.
  15. Hm... Let's get this thing back to the top of the topic-list. Yesterday, they held a comic event over here. I went, and got to see a lot of cool stuff. At one point, I was actually holding in my hand Tintin au Pays des Soviets, Tintin au Congo and Tintin en Amerique in their original state, first editions from the 1930's! Interestingly, on the back was printed they cost 20 Francs. A little sticker labeled them at 150 Euros apiece. The coolest thing, although this is a little off-topic, was that I got to hold - out of its plastic sheet - a first print of De avonturen van Rikki en Wiske. There was only one print in that form, and only 7000 of them were made. It dates back from 1946. Any Dutch or Belgian comic collector knows this is something special. It's hard for me to explain why quickly, but my fellow Dutchies will know. And it was a bargain, too. Only 1700 Euros. - Marc, who also stumbled across an Indiana Jones DVD Box Set over there.
  16. Check the trailer over at apple.com/trailers or at lordoftherings.net and compare. Seeing it would be a better guide than memory. - Marc, who can't wait for the TTT EE (and RotK).
  17. This is interesting... From TORn: Cool Shore Score News! 10/01/03, 12:53 pm EST - Xoanon ShawnF writes: I was visiting the MusicTAP website and came across this article on the LotR soundtracks. It's a bit vague BUT it does mention that the score for Return Of The King will be released at the end of November! Here is the article: The Lord of the Rings soundtrack is a prolific beast to be sure. It now will get, in addition to the other formats, a Limited Edition 3CD set (probably containing the Trilogy's 3 soundtracks in one set) as well as another collection that will come in a slipcase. These are just written in addition so no info as to what they actually contain are available at this writing. However, the original single disc soundtrack bumps BACK to November 25 rather than the December date for the rest of the issues. - Marc
  18. Like Marian said, Zemeckis has a great understanding of visual effects. Just watch Forrest Gump. I had no idea there was SO MUCH stuff in it. Some things are obvious, not because they look fake, but because they couldn't have been done any other way. But I had no idea that shot of Tom Hanks running from the truck was a digital composit, or that the pingpong ball was CGI (seems an obvious solution now, though). - Marc, who'll be watching Cast Away on TV this evening, and expects to "not see" some nice effects in that one.
  19. Watched Apocalypse Now this afternoon anyway. Great film. That's all I can say. I can't describe or reason why it's so good. It just is. That's enough a sign to show this film is as perfect as you get them. - Marc, still a bit overwhelmed.
  20. Hehe. Teri was a bit annoying, yes, but you've got to feel for Jack, though. I'm watching 24: Day 2 for the third time now, this time on Dutch TV (so I can keep up with others who watch it), which is pretty lame, actually, because the BBC is sooo much better (no ad breaks, end credits, cool previews, and 16:9 aspect ratio). But what can I say? I'm addicted. I still have to watch U-571 and Apocalypse Now!, which I taped on Saturday, but it's pretty busy this week, with school and all, so I probably won't get to it until next week. - Marc, who has the 24 logo for wallpaper at school.
  21. You'll need some patience with the second day of 24, because it takes a while for all the subplots to come together, and Jack's running after one bad guy after the next in the first couple of hours, but overall it's a solid season, better than the first, with great action, great acting (particularly from Dennis Haysbert and Xander Berkeley, who both reprise their roles from the first show), and a lot of nasty cliffhangers. The four final eps will keep you on the edge of your seat. - Marc, who also thinks the Teri amnesia subplot was rather annoying. 8O John Barry vs. Moby - James Bond Theme (Remix)
  22. Oh no, so long without JWFan.net ... So the MB won't be accessable too? Shame. Well, maybe this will be a chance for me to have look at that "real world" people always talk about. - Marc 8O JXL vs. Elvis Presley - A Little Less Conversation
