Mr. Breathmask got a reaction from crocodile in A SHAMELESS PLUG: please vote for my movie
A few years ago, I made a short film.

You may have read about it.

Now, this film is in the running for an online film competition. Whoever gathers the most votes wins, so I'm on a voter drive. And if you haven't seen it yet, this will be a great opportunity to check out the film.

A heads up for those interested to read more discussion of the music as used (and unused) in the films:

I'm working on a score restore feature for both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. Expect to see the first videos somewhere in the next month.

I guess this means the bootleg industry of fan restorations will continue to be alive and thriving. Thanks, George!

    Nope.

To me, it's the moment the show completely bought into its own hype and started flaunting it. It became too self-aware for its own good. Before that point, Sherlock was the one being smart and telling us he knew it. Suddenly, the writers were trying to pull the same trick and it just became obnoxious (much like Sherlock to his friends).

It's also from the episode that started the trend of season-long arcs where events from the first episode wouldn't be resolved until the third, breaking with the tradition of three separate stories. From here on out, each season was no longer a collection of great stand-alones, but another Grand Scheme you had to watch from start to finish.

Although the show wasn't without its good moments (or even good episodes), it's still the point where the show took a turn for the worse and never recovered.

I think he meant including Revealing the Plans in track 8 on the OST, while it's actually the second of Williams' compositions to be heard in the movie. The tracklist reads as if Hammond comes up with a plan after Sarah has been rescued.

I just figured I'd help a fellow fan out and actually list the exact info he was looking for, rather than referring to cue lists he'd have to search through to figure out what ended up where.

    It was a legitimate question.

    Oh, well.

Jay, could you make a reference thread with links to all those spreadsheets?

I wanted to look this one up, but I just couldn't find it and I know there are more.

They're quite valuable, so a thread with quick access to them would be much appreciated.

I have to say the difference between these two scores is quite something. Jurassic Park is quintessential Williams. With its big, brassy fanfares, upbeat tone and romantic themes it plays almost like a greatest hits compilation.
And yet the sequel score is something wholly unique in Williams' oeuvre, thanks in large part to his extensive use of percussion and textures.

Pretty interesting for an original and a sequel score written by the same composer.

I have to say I too felt the staging in this episode was rather hokey at times. I'm used to better from Sherlock.

"I get the deadline" should be "I get the idea". Stupid autocorrect.

My point was that the original idea was probably to go with a jungle sound (as you'd expect from a film called The Lost World). After scoring, there might have been some doubt if the score was adventurous enough for a Jurassic Park score, as it doesn't have a prominent adventure theme like the first one. This was then fixed by tracking the concert theme into the film at various places.
