  2. Are you joking? You haven't heard of Gorecki?!?! my how little you know about contemporary composeres. It's like saying i dont know partch, ligeti or varese!! but yeah he's important:p. But not THAT important. he's up there but might be a mussorgsky, and not a wagner.
  3. Are you sure your wife doesn't read JWFan? Cuz if so...

LOL (well, by life i mean your old happy care-free one. now its diapers, candy, pokemon games, then hormones) And btw, JMan send a transcript if you can of the notes you took. i know it's hard to remember it all, but you lucky person sohuld share the revelations williams did.
  5. Amistad, Empire of Sun, ET, Jaws, Jane Eyre, Harry Potter 1, Missouri Breaks, Minority report, Sabrina, Schindlers, SW 1,3, 4,5,6 (all 2 disc versions), Terminal. these i bought. the rest, well, kazaa LOL
  6. Where's the write up of the interview day? We've been waiting for like 3 days for you to share the secrets johnny divulged to you.
  7. agreed. "who is hotter? john williams or jerry goldsmith?" or "when do you think john williams will die?" Haha, if Johnny read this site, he'd be like whoa.
  8. is this an innocent question... sounds suspicious... maybe williams gave you inside info on the next sig edition release.
  9. i know. i was kidding too. hence, BADelt and RABIEs...
  10. nooooooooooo its not klaus "bad"elt nor that trevor rabies guy. it's willliams who's writing the music. and this is awful. yoyo ma and perlman are on it, and its not coming out next month! What am i going to do? how can i wait 3 months for stuff from 3 amazing musicians? gahhhhhhhhhhhh
  11. All this is bs. Clarinet of course. What's this violin and horn crap? Clarinet is the onyl sexy and elegant intstrument i say!
  12. The new HP trailer has pretty good music. I'm talking about the international trailer, which you can find in the NEWS section off www.Mugglenet.com . It sounds pretty interesting. anyone know where the music is from?
  13. When is Memoirs of a Geisha coming out on CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????? GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  14. yes. it would be cool. i mean only williams can write a fanfaresque theme for a porn movie. liek imagine each thrust coupled with FEDC(up the octave) a la star wars. That would be sick.
  15. for me, the end of attack of the clones where amidst the fanfare the sounds of IMPERIAL MARCH are heard for the first time. MWAHAHAHA.
  16. I was having a discussion with a person who played in Hollywood. He played under Williams, Horner, Goldsmith, even "Hank" Mancini. And what was interesting was his opinions on Goldsmith vs Williams. I was asking who he thought was better. And he said Goldsmith is the most creative film composer. Williams on the other hand is the technician. No other film composer is as refined as Williams in technical matters. He didn't answer my question but now i pose it to you. What do you think? Johnny or Jerry?
  17. yes. PoA was great. Cos...well that was my least favourite of the harry potter scores. I hated the gilderoy theme. and the dobby theme? ughs. Mind you, the one theme i liked was the Chamber of Secrets theme, because of its great orchestration. the sul pont violin slides. mmm....delicious.
  18. Listen to No Ticket from Indiana Jones-Last Crusade. Then Gilderoy Lockhart. Sounds extremely similar (though a bit different). Still tho, same orchestration minus the harpsichord... Almost same melody with changes here and there... anyone else notice this?
  19. four feathers? it's prettyish. not that good but makes an okay listening experience.
  20. www.allofmp3.com it has things other than soundtracks too. complete. but lo quality.
  21. wow... someone rip the sex scene out then. i wanna hear how william's scored it. i was talking to someone who worked with goldsmith on basic instinct. haha, for the sex scene, he was working extremely hard trying to come up with something that worked. so much that his assistant (a female) was dreading helping him out since they would watch the sex scene over and over... but he came up with a genius idea for the sex scene.
  22. Jw is definately favourite film composer. but not famous composer of all time. that has to go to my 3 tied for number one. beethoven, wagner and strauss (rich).
  23. Saw it today. Kunzel conducting with Daniels narrating. Pretty good infact. Never heard a Williams concert before. It also let me see what the orchestra sounds like before it is mixed in a studio;p. Order: Fox Fanfare Star Wars Main Theme Adventures of Jar Jar Anakin's Theme Flag Parade Duel of the Fate Across the Stars Battle of the Heroes Little People Leia's Theme Here They Come The Battle The Throne Room INTERMISSION Imperial March Asteroid Field Yoda's Theme Han and the Princess Finale Jabba's Theme Luke and Leia Parade of Ewoks Forest Battle Star Wars Main Theme The concert pieces were edited, snippets cut to make it shorter/fit the 2 hour concert length. Daniels was great, often speaking in his C-3P0 accent. There was a encore, which was orchestrated Cantina Band.
  24. Is there one? And on an unrelated note, i turn 18 today. w00t.
  25. well what i think he means is the traditionial Goldsmith/Williams movie sound. By this i mean, using the concert works as an example, ET, Star Wars, Superman, Air force one, Star Trek, etc. i think he's sick of that type of sound which i guess is justified in a sense. That type of sound is what i'd consider the Goldsmith/williams school. Stuff like Minority report would be a hermannesque school. And when i mean justified, it does get a bit boring after i listen to the concert suites over and over. It's too happy, too olympic style i guess the word is. often when i listen to williams, i intersperse with some schindlers or close encounters for more variety. but then this style has come up with some of the most memorable themes ever. i remember my first time listening to JP or Star wars. Wow so good. But the guy should listen to more JW before making a decision cuz tho they do use the style often, they do use tons of variety in scores.
