  1. after watching ROTS, i have to say OMG, R2 is THE COOLEST DROID EVAR! I love his amazing skillz. I wish R2 did that in Episode 6. Come on think about it. Imagine he poured oil all over Jabba and fired it! It would be so cool.
  2. ew. the conductor ew... only good cycle IMO is the karajan one. bernstein is okay, but the karajan is my defining one.

  6. way to ruin my ratings lol. jk. It's not me singing. I sing very in tune only I have to conduct, so that's why i didn't sing. The singer is an r'n'b singer who likes to sing flat, so singing this in tune was not his forte. the female is great tho. opera singer. fine vocalist. I thought i'd share it cuz it was live from a concert. (i don't record these things often)
  7. something newly recorded. http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?AID=285685&T=4396
  8. http://people.aol.com/people/galleries/0,1...4372_12,00.html the thing behind him is the porch. for that, they covered hte grass with a wooden thingy. its really hollow and light though it looks like actual stone. If you get the Toronto Star, there's a pic of him today. The thing behind him on the bike is the window from our basement. it's really ugly, but that is our window. Lastly, i have a pic of the set without antonio. if you want to see that, pm me.
  9. Yesterday was the last day he was filming at my school. He is so cool! The movie is Take the Lead. So if you watch that movie, the school is my school. The halls got changed a bit. Our lockers got covered up with stuff to make it look the beige locker colour. And the chandalier got changed and a bunch of stuff. But this was cool for me! I've never been on a movie set, nor even SEE antonio banderas. But there he was. So yea! That was cool. Mebbe they're get john williams to write the score. OMG, that would be great. Hip hop score by john williams.
  10. I for one think its time to set things right. Classical composers are serious composers, that don't just write funny tunes. Mahler's stuff isn't funny. They are the world, as he put it. Nor was beethoven. My point is how many classical composers are able to hear what write without a piano in comparison to rock composers? How many have perfect pitch? How many needed to be trained musically (by training we're talking about 3 years of tonal harmony, orchestrations, counterpoint, then possibly another 2 of atonal theory, serialism etc)? Do you see Rock composers doing any of this? How many rock composers rewrite their stuff over 300 times? (beethoven is renowned for rewriting things OVER and OVER to perfect) And most importantly, how many rock composers use the idea of developing musical ideas? Not simply honking out your standard Verse-chorus-verse-chorus-middle 8-chorus pattern. But actually using a theme, and fiddling with it so you do retrograde inversions, etc? Sorry guy, but most rock composers do not come fairly close to comparing with classical composers. There are some that i admire, including hendrix. And also guy, john williams knows a b chord from a f chord. Every composer knows what that is. But tell me, does your average rock player know the petrushka chord, neapolitan chord, or even simpler, a Calt chord? Serious music is classical music. Talk to most university professors, who are experts in thier fields. none of them will debate my statement. less that 30% of Rock music is serious, but 90% of classical music is serious. Also, true music does not need lyrics to function (i hold this point of view with film music as well). Lyrics is something that RESTRICTS our interpretation of the music. It forces us to have only one interpretation. If you have the title "can you feel the love tonight," you're forced to conform to the idea that music is a love song or whatnot. as a music listener, you should have freedom in the way you listen to it. AND, if you truly think anyone who can write a hit is a serious musician that is very sad IMO. what are hits? they have a great riff, awesome rhythm section, good hook, and often simple chord sequences (ex: i- VI-III-VI) that follow a formulaic path (your standard VCVCBridgeC). Hits are designed to cater to the common crowd so that an album sells. Thus they are FOR the audience. True music should be FOR the composer. if you are a true listener of music, the true beauty in albums lie in the stuff OTHER than the hit. they show the experimental side of the composer/musicians and how they are moving into other territories. To sum up, classical composers are much more trained than rock musicians. They have infinetly more skills than the average rock musician and spend much more time writing a serious piece. next time, please think of your positions before stating them because they could be based on seriously flawed information.
  11. well its on the HL website so i'm assuming its up for sale. contact them if you wanna buy it.

THe list is: A Bridge To The Past Aunt Marge's Waltz Double Trouble The Knight Bus Witches, Wands And Wizards So as you see it also sucks ass cuz it doesn't have Buckbeak. wtf! hopefully witches, wands and wizards=buckbeaks' flight which i higlhy doubt. 15. Here's more stuff that i can tell you about. here's my take ont he soundtrack and two special clips that prolly are of interest. Battle of Heroes is indeed really interesting. Like we suspected, that motif is used over and over in the final piece. He announces it first in the horns with that viola figurations. Then the chorus shouts it out, and after a THIRD up. and then, he goes into some tangents with the motif and develops it a bit, with some usual trumpet counterpoint. I don't know if it works in the context of the film but it sounds okay as a concertish piece. Unfortunately, i don't think it's as good as the stuff in the ESB, which is still my favourite for all concert pieces with star wars. In the End credits, it begins with the horn (and clarinet i think) playing leia's theme. (wow what a surprise) then you hear some lovely force motifs. then a solo horn which buidls into an announcement with strigns before your usual fanfare. then SW theme. Followed by leia's theme. Then, Battle of Heroes which comes right after the part in Leia's concert piece where the trumpet comes in. The BOTH starts off with chorus (no horn announcement like in the concert piece). Then the Throne Room, but much bigger than the skywalker orch recording. They added massive reverb. I'm not sure if it is that good actually when they did that. Wow, i didn't know that the Throne Room recording was the FULL throne room concert piece. It IS. you DO get that lovely oboe solo on pizzing strings. So that's interesting. The ending of the throne room cuts out that normal ending credits fanfare cuz we've already heard it. (Duh!) it goes back to the SW THeme via a timpani roll (i didn't really like this part). You know how the SW concert piece is in a kind of ABACACoda form? Well, they skip the ABAC, and go straight to ACoda. So that's the end credits my friend.
  16. hey guys i finally decided to mp3 a song. so here it is. I love you. (yeah original title haha) http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs...gs=285685&T=709
