having his films shot in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio
According to all of my paperwork, Minority Report will be a 'scope film.

He made Raiders of the Lost Ark. Of course I like him!!!

I saw it once opening day. That was enough. I don't remember the score. My buddy has it. Maybe I'll give it a listen.

The music used during the intro was used in the original teaser trailer for Minority Report, and bears a striking resemblance to "Leaving Home" from Superman - The Movie, where Clark finds the green crystal in the shed.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Fortunately, right now I'm only about 90 minutes away from New York. Of course in 3 years, who knows. Great idea though!

On April 10, 2006, we can celebrate the 25th anniversary of the title "Episode IV - A New Hope". And on January 31, 2022 we can celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the "Special Edition". Today, we can celebrate the release of the Star Wars.

In 1977, it was not "A New Hope". Please respect that.

Star Wars was released on May 25, 1977 on 32 screens. Today it is 25 years old, and still the best film of the series and one of the greatest films ever made. After I get home from work tonight, I'll be watching my Laser Disc of this classic.

That was a lot of fun. Thanks for pointing that out!

Not to disrupt one of the most perfect scores written for the cinema.
Then don't.

I would like to see Han Solo get kidnapped and raised by wookies, like Tarzan.
Neil - who actually told people this was a major spoiler from Episode II

My favorite Horner scores are:
Battle Beyond the Stars
Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III - The Search for Spock
Brainstorm
Krull
Aliens
Willow
The Rocketeer
I find everything else to be too derivative. Even these scores sound a lot a like in instances, and sometimes it's clearly not even music by Horner.

Am i alone in liking the 60's series more?
Melange, that is a great picture!! (Plato's Stepchildren)
And no, I love the original series. It's my favorite. I might know as much about as Joe. But then, should that really come as a surprise?

The US version of the Attack of the Clones CD is not copy protected. That's why Jason and Dan can play there CD's in there computer without a problem.
I believe only the European versions of the disc are copy protected.

You gotta love that song that punkrock dude is listening to on the bus
Just we're in the future,
The things we could've said.
Let's just push the button,
We'd be better off dead!
'Cause I hate you!
And I berate you!
And I can't wait to get to you.
The sins of all the fathers
Were given to the sons
The only choice we're given
Is how many megatons?!
And I eschew you
And I say, '*Screw you*!
And I hope you're blue too.
I found that here.

The Empire soundtrack refers to the theme as, "The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)".
Another mis-used theme not mentioned was the Trade Federation march as Obi-Wan first sees the clone troopers loading up on Kamino.

I am angry about the handling of Williams' music because it was Star Wars that got me interested in the wonderful world of film music and John Williams. A Star Wars film for me has always been about the wonderful music. When I was a kid, I was thrilled to have 11 records all devoted to the original trilogy. It's some of the finest music ever written and deserves to be heard.
Now he we are getting a new Star Wars film and a new Star Wars score. I should be excited. But I'm not. First of all, the movie is a tremendous let down, from a dramatic stand point. And on top of that, the music has been utterly destroyed. The thing that got me interested in music has been ripped away from me. Am I taking this personally? No. I'm not saying, "George, I deserve better than this. You owe me." I am however expressing my dissapointment with this. It used to be that Star Wars films were the best in terms of music matching the imagery and telling the story on its own. Not anymore. That's why I'm mad about this.

To me, Superman - The Movie is the best film available on DVD. That's my pick. Plus, as a Williams fan, the score has never sounded better, particularly on the isolated 5.0 music channel. It's a pity that it has all the edits to correspond to the movie.

It just reminded me of the Cantina from Star Wars a bit.
What about the scene in Star Trek III inside the bar where they are trying to charter a flight to Genesis? Didn't that remind you of Star Wars at all?
Neil - "How can you be deaf with ears like that?"

Star Wars
Superman - The Movie
The Adventures of Robin Hood
Star Trek - The Motion Picture
King Kong
Psycho
Vertigo
Marnie
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Krull

Dan - who has 2 of the scores. The Undiscovered Country and First Contact -- which, I hear, is, by far, the best.
The best score of the series is Goldsmiths's score to Star Trek - The Motion Picture. The best film of the series is Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan.

I went with David Arnold. I was so happy when I found out that he was scoring a Bond film.

Finally saw AOTC.

Better you than me.
I'm pretty sure that the Yoda music used at the end is original and not tracked in from ESB.
