Kira isn't exactly chubby-inducing.

Whenever I go back to my hometown for the Thanksgiving Day game the high school band always strikes up the Imperial March at the point we are completely smearing the other team. It is quite effective, a way of saying "Nyah nyah nyah nyah-nyaaah nyah" -- musically speaking, of course.

Thanks for sharing, Ray.
As far as I'm concerned, this thread is dead and buried. Or at least it was until Mr. CruciformSword decided to resurrect it, responding to a remark I made a week ago. We already know you don't appreciate the thread, Jason. Christ, give it a rest already! Let it go!
As if I were the only one annoyed by the photos. Sheesh.

Ren, how can you not like The Reivers?!!!!!
I'm afraid we shall never marry.

The same thing happened at the site I used to monitor. Some high-spirited gal posted a photo of a guy with an enormous, engorged -- oh nevermind. Point is, one of the regulars, a lawyer, opened the thread at work. Of course, when he told us about it, we all laughed our asses off, but you can imagine the position that can put somebody in.
God, I miss that site!

Thanks for sharing!
More love!

That is what my remark was in reference to, asshole -- the irony of you moaning about me moaning about pictures. But we can continue on with this, if you like. You moan about me moaning about you moaning about me moaning, ad infinitum. Just keep the thread at the top of page. Good move, Einstein.
-
What are you two moaning about? What's a little discord?
Okay, if you don't like it, I'll stop. I'll just let everyone else pick on Morn.
At least our union lasted long enough that we were able to have one lovely child in UCFKevin.

Well, he's dead actually (G. Reeves, not Shatner).
-
George Reeves is living proof of what a padded suit can do for a man. Perhaps someone can get Shatner interested in the role.
-
Good point, Kevin. Find a nice girl with knockers bigger than yours. That's my motto.

(Sissy Zod is Terence Stamp's sister.)

The Superbowl? How the hell did I see it, I wonder? That must have been the year I went to a Superbowl party with one of my ex-girlfriends. Was it the same year they started showing television spots for Lost World?
Figo, who would love to see a scene in which Jude Law, as Sissy Zod, gets his hand crushed by a rehabilitated Chris Reeve.

Sorry, Joe. No disrespect to you. The photo is completely inappropriate. That's what makes it so damn funny. I've been laughing about it, on and off, all afternoon. People on the street must think I'm crazy.
But I can understand how awkward it would be for you if someone caught you looking at it at work. An argument could be made that it skirts pornography without actually going over the edge, but I doubt your boss would be up for discussing the finer points.
-
I suppose it would be in bad taste for me to burst out laughing at this point. But, then again, it's completely consistent with the rest of the thread, so:

Thanks, BW. I'll definitely try to catch that.
Glad to see Reeve has been keeping busy. At the very least, he's written a book, directed a movie for cable, and starred in a television remake of Rear Window -- not to mention his numerous personal appearances. He seems to be a genuinely nice man, and I think he is well liked. We would all like to see him beat this thing. The fact that he has perservered so far proves once and for all he is the true Man of Steel.
-
I thought Sist and Cest would make good twins. But now that I think about it...
-
No! Even in his current state, Reeve could beat the living piss out of an inbred pantywaist like Jude Law!
Another actor will play Superman, no doubt, but chances are he will do no finer job. I hope I'm wrong, of course.
As for your last option, Steef -- which is in questionable taste -- believe it or not, there was once a television commercial here in the States that actually did just that. It had something to do with spinal research or something, but there was Reeve, walking again.
Who knows, he could actually give his consent to such a thing, except it would turn the movie into a freak show.
Figo, who would love for Reeve to walk again -- in reality -- even if he never made another film.

Hey, Neil -- is that your girlfriend?
Damn you Figo!
HaHa! Just kidding, Neil! LOL
Uh. You wouldn't happen to have a link, would you?

Beowulf, I know I am not by any reckoning your favorite jwfan poster, but I congratulate you on your discovery. Thank you, on behalf of all the other Old-Timers for viewing it with an open mind. I always suspected that the film, taken on its own terms, would win anyone over. And I agree, what is so winning about it, in large part, is its innocence. The tone is perfect from beginning to end. Thinking about it in retrospect, it's all the more surprising since the decade following the Vietnam War was an era of sanctioned cynicism. We have a lot less to complain about these days (or at least we did until the last presidential election) and yet we are subject to a lot more grit and grime at the movies.
Again, I am happy for you that you found this great film. You have not overrated Williams' score. In fact, if you ever get a chance to see Superman on the big screen, do so. It's even more impressive. I second Luke's recommendation for the 2-CD Rhino set. There is a rival Warners issue on a single disc, but it deletes two tracks from the original LP release. The Varese re-recording was eagerly awaited by fans, but it is no substitute for the Rhino version, which is the most comprehensive to date.
You will pardon me, if just this once, I do not use the qualification "IMHO." This is one of John Williams' greatest scores.

Sheesh. What a malcontent.
LOL

In that case, I hope the other is Princess Di (vide "Darth names" thread).

Is that you dangling from the chain, or I?

And why is it, exactly, we're celebrating?
Figo, who would rather see a really good movie that grosses a mere $100 million in 600 days -- as if it really means anything to anyone other than studio fat cats and self-congratulatory fanboys.
