I've got the BBC documentary and it is really wonderful. One of the best and most interesting I've ever seen.

As another European I would be very grateful for these iTunes tracks.
Please PM me. Thanks a lot.

Also recorded on February 3rd, Revenge of the Sith DVD Version (Battle of the Heroes, presumably).
It is great. But the recording dates look strange in comparision with "Hyperspace in London" reports. If I catch it correctly the recording sessions started on February 3th (see report "Post Notes: The Score Begins - February 03, 2005") not February 2th. The recording date of "End Credits" differs the most. In reports they've said it was recorded on February 9th and here it is February 17th. Please could somebody shed light on it because it is real mystery for me. Thank you very much.

Please could somebody write me which John Williams' film music concerts were aired on television and when?
Thanks a lot.
-
Does anybody own DVD-Audio version of A.I. soundtrack?
Please could you tell me something about the sound quality? Is it really Dolby Surround 5.1?
I have naturally already got CD version of it but I'm very disappointed by the hollow and flat sound which is IMHO destroying wonderful Williams' music
Does DVD-Audio really sound much better than CD?
And what about SACD version of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial?
Thanks a lot for any piece of information.
E-Wan - who loves rich and deep sound and hates flat and hollow sound

Tangelwood 2002 / 2003 conducted by Williams ( 2x~45min )
Please tell me more information about these concerts. Thanks.

I have a video of John Williams writing and then conducting some scenes of The Empire Strikes Back. It runs for about an hour.
Have you got it on DVD or VHS? I've got this documentary only as a very low-quality Video-CD from Miquel. It's so wonderful that I want it in better quality playable in full screen resolution
I have a Williams concert not conducted by Williams, what will you offer? Is it that German MDR concert from Miquel or is it something else?
Tangelwood 2002 / 2003 conducted by Williams ( 2x~45min )Classickonzert ( 15min music from williams ) not conducted by Williams
Williams plays music from AI ( 5min )
Is it on DVD, VHS or AVI, MPEG,...etc? Thanks for info.
An RC2 DVD of a Morricone concert was recently released in Europe, entitled Ennio Morricone - Arena Concerto. It's very good mostly, though I'm not too happy with the sound, it's way too surround-y. I don't know if that's the mix or just the Arena acoustics though.Yes. I know that. I have ordered this DVD two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for it :?

I'd like to see some documentaries or videorecording of film music concerts on DVD or VHS (PAL only). I'm especially interested in everything connected with John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Morricone and Bernard Herrmann.
Does anybody here have such DVDs or VHS recordings in very good quality? Or have you friend who has it?
I'm going to trade something in return or pay for it.
Please let me know!

I envy you that you have opportunity to watch John Williams' concert on TV. Unfortunatelly in your country we have no film music concerts and no TV stations bradcasting them
So I would be very very grateful for every videorecording of any John Williams' film music concert on CD-R (AVI, MPEG, DAT or MOV) or PAL VHS!! If you can help me with that please let me know. My e-mail is: e-wan@cswu.cz
Thank you so much.

I'm looking for some analysis of the musical themes from Close Encounters, E.T., Jurassic Park, A.I. and Minority Report. Is something like this available?
I would be also very grateful for the list of all themes from these five Spielberg's films. Thanks a lot.

Black Sunday... can someone tell me what that film is about?
I've seen this film today on TV and it is very interesting film. I like it very much. Terrorists as the main characters. Very unusual and interesting!
Maybe this plot summary on IMDB can be useful for you.
Black Sunday - music from the finale is great! I hope someday this score will be officially released :?
E-Wan - who wants officially-licensed CD soundtracks from Images, Family Plot, Black Sunday and Monsignor so much!

Minority Report is IMHO one of the best Spielberg - Williams collaborations in the last decade next to A.I.. Music is perfect in the film and I'm glad that Williams didn't use synth music. It will be not very appropriate for this film.
The film is excellent futuristic film-noir and Williams's music is wonderful film-noir score.
The action cues "Everybody Runs" and "Anderton's Great Escape" are also great. IMHO one of the best action pieces Williams have ever composed. Music for the first 'murder-prevision' scene is breathtaking especially in the connection with the previsions and the whole 'rescuing' scene.
Anne Lively's Theme is awesome. I love that female voice so much!
And Sean's Theme? It's brilliant.
I think Minority Report is one of the best films and scores in 2002
Minority Report

Roman, I live in Czech republic too and I'm wondering if you live in the same country. Many Williams' soundtracks you have mentioned are available in every CD shop. Naturally some limited and rare CDs such as Home Alone 2 DE, The Fury DE, Temple of Doom, gold Schindler's list, etc... are not, but they are not available anywhere in Europe.
But Catch Me If You Can is normally available. In Czech republic it was released in February. I haven't also any problem to buy Home Alone, Hook, both expanded releases of E.T., SW Anthology Box Set and all three SW trilogy SE 2 CD releases.

Best score of 2002?
Gotta be The Fury or Home Alone 2, although I haven't heard Fiddler yet.
Stefancos- who thinks 2002 was overall a very dissapointing Williams year.
But The Fury, Home Alone 2 and Fiddler on the Roof were not composed in 2002 I think!!!
IMHO 2002 is the best John Williams' year until 1993!!!
He composed 4 great scores which are IMHO very different in style. And I agree that Minority Report is the best of them. It is very complex and it works perfectly in the film. I love it!!!

Sadly I can't afford it
I'll try to get the original one-cd release.
My friend sells this orig. CD (it looks like new) for 15 USD or EUR. If you are interested, let me know.

I can traded cd-r's with it, if you're asking that. The file is some 500 mg large, too much for my internet connection.
Wow!!! It sounds great! I'm really interested in it. Do you have some another documentaries about John Williams? I'm really interested in all of them

I have analyzed the musical themes in The Force Awakens score and I have found following 20 new themes/motifs so far:
Rey's Theme - actually there are FIVE different themes/motifs for Rey, which is really awesome!
Kylo Ren's Theme - sinister fanfare first heard in "The Attack on Jakku Village"
Kylo Ren's Secondary Theme - 8-note motif, the most prominent in "The Abduction"
Poe Dameron's Theme - masterful (and my favourite) heroic theme first heard in "I Can Fly Anything"
Finn's Action Theme - actually it is more likely Finn's and Rey's action theme, heard in "Follow Me", "The Falcon", "The Rathtars!",...
March of the Resistance Theme
Snoke's Theme - but it is not completely new because of its reference to "Palpatine's Teachings"
Death Theme - heard in "Starkiller" and "Torn Apart"
Scherzo for X-Wings Theme
BB-8's motif
Map motif
Escape/action motif - ostinato heard in "I Can Fly Anything" and "The Resistance" (FYC promo)
Torn Apart motif - heard in "Torn Apart" and at the end of "Snoke" (album version)
First Order motif - heard in the begginning of "The Attack on Jakku Village, Part 1" and "Snoke" (FYC promo)
TIE Fighter motif + TIE Fighter pilot motif - heard together several times in "The Falcon" and then in "The Jedi Steps and Finale"
+ of course The Jedi Steps Theme which propably will become the real theme in Episode VII
Have anybody found another theme/motif I have missed?
