  1. Vader is the better villian. Snape is the better character, after Deathly Hallows you can't look at the man the same way.
  2. The Adventures Of Tintin for me. Or any other new John Williams score for that matter. Every time Williams puts pen to paper I get excited. Period.
  3. Wonderful script, with a terrible ending. Snyder will ruin all the good things in the screenplay. Can't wait to miss it.
  4. No, its John stripping away God immortality for just a few moments and allowing him to weep like a man. No finer words has ever been created.
  5. Very hard call. But I would have to go with Prisoner of Azkaban because of how it illustrates Williams' skill at story telling through music.
  6. I don't like the "worst" idea. They are all brilliant. Just some more than the other. But my rank would be: Temple of Doom Last Crusade Raiders
  7. When the music distracts from the story to an obnoxious level. Film composers must often be like editors, when you notice their work significantly then there might be a problem.
  8. AAAWWW the poor baby wants attention. awwww the little baby wants someone to validate his opinion of harry potter by arguing with him? AAWWW BOOO HOOO look at that that's so adorable. AAWW Poor baby get a bib and clean yourself up.
  9. Easy! Sorcerer's Stone For one simple reason: Hedwig's Theme. No theme yet in Harry Potter has stood up to that. It was clear from first listen that Williams was more inspired by the book than the movie.
  10. Wall-E I'm a huge Newman fan and I was hoping for something on the scale of Finding Nemo but Wall-E is a bore!
  11. To say that I am new to this whole "complete" "expanded" "isolated" score thing is a tremendous understatement. Where the hell are you guys getting these tracks from? Do you guys have the official cue sheet from Williams? Did you guy rip it from dvds? Is this a guide to acquiring these unreleased tracks. And how do I get them. Lay some knowledge of the novice PLEASE. Because you are obviously either OCD purist or just really dedicated.
  12. i'm just hoping that it won't be something like the end of The Return to Bostonn from War of the Worlds. Overly America and cliche
  13. Because A.I. is a science fiction movie. Ah which inherently means its not dramatic. You really think that? You have a lot to learn... It is called sarcasm. You have a lot to learn. It is called sarcasm. You have a lot to learn. It is called sarcasm. You have a lot to learn.

  16. There is a bit of unnecessary "etiquette" in orchestral concerts. But then you also have to account for the need to actually hear the piece being performed. It would totally ruin a first performance of something if people decided to cheer because that crescendo was just splendid or if they found the tuba player's performance the most thrilling of this old and well known piece.
  17. It's not a rock concert. Sit down shut up and listen. HPFAN_2 - Now adjusting his monocle and walking out with a totally unnecessary silver headed cane and cloak.
  18. These are Williams' bread and butter and I think he realizes that. These are the same people who love the Star Wars music because they are a huge SW geeks. When was the last time John Williams performed Presumed Innocent or Witches of Eastwick. He knows what the "masses" want to hear. They want the Indy and Harry Potter because they are huge fans of the movies, not necessarily music fans.
  19. WHY THE HELL ISN'T A.I. ON HERE! Anyways I vote for Geisha.
  20. Oh, the hypnotic power of bouncing jugs. Stefan Cosman is the greatest in the world. His opinion is the only one that will ever matter. I am suddenly finding Blumenkohl's opinion awfully persuasive. Hhmmm I'm glad I'm strong enough to not succumb to those forces.
  21. If by right direction you mean Burton being very predictable/repeating himself then yes, it is. Oh wow, I thought I was the only one who thought this. I saw this pictures and simply shrugged thinking, this image wasn't surprising. I thought it'll be another "Burton" film. Nothing wrong with a "Burton" film but his out there style is no longer out there for me since he does it every time.
  22. War of the Worlds, I absolutely love the orchestration but Alien is a better score all around. So I abstain from voting.
  23. I spoke with two composers who said that scoring for Video games is quite easier than films. They said it was easier because scoring video games is a general writing experience, it's more under score and supplement than major musical story telling. Also that complex composers would find it restraining and boring to enter video games because it would require them to write a few pieces to underscore the "walking through forest" and "battle" parts of a games which would then be looped. I remember a little kid was playing the Indiana Jones lego version on a psp and it was quite fun hearing the score. I was curios to see how his music was treated in the games and so I played the game and I also played lego star wars. I hated the score in the games, the score seemed too loud and way too grand for the games, they really needed a toned down score. I dunno if that proves the point or if that's just a bad example of copying and pasting Williams' scores.
  24. Last I heard, the film's been put on hiatus It'll be made. Rudin's involved.
