  1. Yes..This needs a redux without the dialogue and more music .
  2. I would freak out for THE RARE BREED. Its such a great score along the lines of THE REIVERS.
  3. He mentioned reissues: so that could be some OOP CDs like How to Steal a Million, Jane Eyre, Heidi, etc. All redone with the Matessino touch. HOOK and THE PATRIOT would be awesome. CINDERELLA LIBERTY did get an isolated score on the Twilight Time blu ray so that should be able to happen now.
  4. Not yet available outside US and nothing on Spotify as yet. Edit: Finally heard it. It's lovely and really nice. The recording sounds terrific!!!
  5. Wailing fakir? Seriously how uneducated those folks are. Director Shekhar Kapur sought Qawwali singer Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as a virtuoso artist to collaborate with James Horner. He had previously employed Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for Bandit Queen and previously Peter Gabriel used him in THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST. When Nusrat Fateh died, Rahat took over as his grand seat of the Qawwali. Qawwali is the mystical Devotional singing art of the Sufi order from the region of Pakistan and India going back 500 years. Back in 90s Nusrat Fateh did back to back concerts in New York, London, Paris rendering the western audiences in a mesmerizing fervor. He was an instant hit. He also participated in DEAD MAN WALKING with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder. James Horner called his collaboration with Rahat one of the most rewarding experience of his career. He then reemployed him for APOCALYPTO. Rahat is one of the Top vocalists working in Bollywood film music playback groups. I once asked Hans Zimmer about him and if would collaborate with this world music artist and he was already enthusiastic. Hopefully that will happen someday..
  6. She knew it was coming so I Had her brainwashed her already but she still made a face Here is the loot..... Some are ordered as duplicates: ST:TMP, CE3K, SUPERMAN, FAR AND AWAY, THE RIVER and LEGENDS OF THE FALL. Others from recent orders...
  7. Not lost. Parked at my aunts place. She was to travel to my city but became restricted due to Covid. Finally here. It's here. I can't believe it. It's like BLACK FRIDAY X 5 Times
  8. Ive got a major haul coming up from NY which was stuck there due to Covid for 2 years!
  9. Journey to the Island is kinda covered in the current thematic representation of the "Theme" But as a coda how about using the T-Rex Chase cue from JP synched live to film would be awesome. from THE LOST WORLD -Id love the main Theme ( not the revised concert version) and The Hunt.
  10. My firstever listen to this gem of a score. Absolutely great listening experience and at this point Im getting more of the Album program and after a while I will explore the film recordings - I understand both offer a different perspective but equally rewarding experience.
  11. Nice. Ive never had the original album and was just thinking of getting the OST off ebay. To know that there is enough music for an expansion makes me to pause and ponder.
  12. The Red Seal edition of the Gerhardt STARWARS/CE3K album is the best pressing sound wise without the ambient surround mix that came on the other Gerhardt film score recordings. I have this and the JEDI album.
  13. wait- a few pages back somebody did confirm about this being recorded although in unofficial capacity. this!
  14. So at this point it’s only confirmed a cd recording is expected. We are not sure if this will come as a video concert?
  15. Did anyone record from their own mobiles this time? Hopefully these would be posted here and on YouTube.
  16. I clicked on the Anne Sophie mutter page in the link posted above and the browser pinged me to “Allow for Cookies” 🤪🫓 This is also news for me: Scheduled for release on 19 August, a special single-disc Blu-ray edition of the album will feature all tracks in Pure Audio – also available in Surround and Dolby Atmos – along with films of last summer’s world premiere of the second violin concerto at Tanglewood, together with the artists’ encore performance of “Across the Stars” (from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones); the three film themes in concert from Boston; and a 25minute interview with John Williams and Anne-Sophie Mutter at Tanglewood. A 10-inch vinyl version of the three film themes will be released on the same day, available exclusively online from the DG Store. To whet fans’ appetites, a new single and video of the concerto’s second movement, “Rounds”, will be available from 11 March. This will be followed by “Han Solo and the Princess” on 29 April, with a special YouTube premiere for its video on 4 May – Star Wars Day. The e-single and video of “Marion’s Theme” will be released on the same day as the album, 3 June, while the video of the Theme from The Long Goodbye will come out with the Blu-ray album on 19 August.
  17. TOP SECRET!: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET) LLLCD 1588 Music by Maurice Jarre Limited Edition of 2000 Units RETAIL PRICE: $26.98 STARTS SHIPPING MARCH 11 Order yours from www.lalalandrecords.com starting 12 noon (pst) on 3/8 La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures, in conjunction with JAY Entertainment, proudly present a 2-CD expanded and remastered release of renowned composer Maurice Jarre’s (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, DOCTOR ZHIVAGO, WITNESS) original score to the 1984 big screen cult comedy classic TOP SECRET!, written and directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, and starring Val Kilmer. The creative team behind the legendary AIRPLANE!, Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, followed that comedy classic with this wildly uproarious and unlikely send-up of WWII action dramas and 60’s Elvis films. The film would launch Val Kilmer’s film career -- he shines here as both a skilled comic actor and singer – and composer Maurice Jarre’s rich orchestral score sends the laughs into the stratosphere, his wonderful music in perfect dramatic juxtaposition against all the on-screen hilarity. Disc One of this 2-CD presentation marks the world premiere of Maurice Jarre’s film score recording (the original score album was re-recorded), along with bonus and source cues, while Disc Two features the CD world premiere of the film’s funny (and extremely catchy) retro-rock songs, (including “Skeet Surfing”, “How Silly Can You Get?” and more), along with the remastered original 1984 score album. Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Chris Malone, this limited release of 2000 units features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Daniel Schweiger, (featuring new interview comments from the writer/directors and others), and art direction by Dan Goldwasser. 18. New update from Doug at Intrada.net https://store.intrada.com/s.nl/sc.13/category.60330/.f We recorded the complete Jerry Goldsmith scores for both Black Patch (1957) and The Man (1972) just this last October with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and the album is being released this Tuesday, March the 8th. Wow! Recorded, mixed, edited, mastered, packaged, manufactured and now ready to ship to your door already! I think it is fair to say we’re getting pretty fast at this. William Stromberg tackled the conducting, Leigh Phillips prepared the scores and we utilized two different orchestras to get everything down: the former, Goldsmith’s very first theatrical film score, required a reasonably standard orchestra excepting Goldsmith wrote no trumpet parts, lending the resulting western music a more brooding, darker edge to it. The latter score utilized an orchestra that certainly had trumpets in full force but now dropped violins, placing violas as the senior upper string sonority. Black Patch is highlighted by an absolutely haunting central theme that underlines the romantic triangle in the story, made sadly moving because the three characters initially are friends rather than competitors and all three care about each other. Goldsmith got inside this aspect of the plot with his minor key theme, in a most tender fashion. As for The Man, Goldsmith anchors his powerful score around a six-note motif with brass-led Americana flourishes, appropriate for Rod Serling’s take on the Irving Wallace fictional best-seller about the first African American president of the United States. In this brief but magnificent score, Goldsmith illuminates such iconic landmarks as the Lincoln Memorial, the White House and the presidential paintings in the Oval Office. It is fun to ponder the musical power of the Lincoln Memorial sequence, knowing Goldsmith tackled an almost identical dramatic moment in his later, highly celebrated sci-fi score for Logan’s Run. Contents, artwork and sound samples will be posted here tomorrow evening. Orders will begin shipping on Tuesday. This is our second release made possible through our Kickstarter campaign, following Dimitri Tiomkin’s complex score written for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 thriller, Dial M For Murder. If listeners will continue supporting our ambitious but so-very-worthwhile efforts, a third project now in the early stages of pre-production will prove most exciting for sure!.
