In the FSM thread it's mentioned that a reissue was long planned with the remastered OST album so this might be a 3CD set? Also the previous set was remixed with the composers own involvement. I think if they were to revert back to Eric Tomlinsons original film mixes would be even better; let's see....

That synthesizer cum percussion recording? A full fledge organic recording ala the original orchestration would always be welcome but dont expect it anytime soon specially in this time frame.

I truly love this score. Reissue it is.

The recording itself sounds so good. I won't be surprised that this cd will probably garner some Grammy nomination. Can't wait for August.

Dunno. But This came out as a DTX cd Audio in a 5.1 mix in 1998. They reused that same DTS mix on this SACD using a higher DSD resolution. This SACD came out in 2003. Prior to that there was a 2 channel stereo only SACD a few years earlier.

I paid £90 for the SACD! What was I thinking!!!??

New arrivals from Intrada and the super rare 5.1 Multi Channel SACD of TITANIC.

A while ago I got the Multi channel 5.1 SACD of James Horner's TITANIC. The LLL expansion's sound quality is leagues ahead in stereo. Similarly the LLL CE3K issue is far more stellar in soundmix than the OST SACD issue that came out a year earlier before LLL. LLL expansions are definitivly better and so is Intrada (specialy with Matessino's involvement)

I suppose the sucess of this album may warrant a 2nd collaboration. Its all pre planned. I have forseen it. !

Elfman was critical of Williams theme when he discussed his BATMAN score in a Starlog Magazine interview where he mentioned how 1 dimensional the theme was indicating a single uplifting expression only. Whereas his own Dark Knight theme could be modulated in many ways.. Anyone remember reading that? But I was glad he used the theme in the sequel. It was a good tribute and essentially indicated how important and unforgettable Williams iconic theme was even to this day.

I hope the LP set includes the 2nd disc program as well. But the real Vinyl release I want is CE3K, and the remastered SUPERMAN set. Those would be awesome. I think because of the Sony deal CE3K may not happen. Even though it was scheduled until MV said that it wasn't coming now. Hoping that it changes.

At least the sound quality is improved. And isn't the new music on the film program around 3 minutes more because the the cues unique to the OST are not repeated. Anyways the Liner Notes would explain it correctly. The last issue came out when in 2007?

Hmm I think there was a discussion in last years London concert meeting with Mike Matessino with the fans about a possible redux of MONSIGNOR title ! And we know John Williams being on Intrada's 2019 agenda list so it could be possibly be just that ?. Lets see.

Ok, Jon informed me that the CD single rlease of this piece is most likely to come via Disney label when the ride opens in August. But he says do not expect the other WIlliams Ross arrangements to be on that cd. Oh well.....
