  1. The Han-Leia theme in Empire works mostly as a tragic plot device in musical terms. It doubles as for the romance that is about to be doomed because at the end Han gets carbonized at Bespin. The same feeling of tragedy and despair comes roaring back in Episode VII. I have a very good feeling that Williams intends to use it again in the movie. I'll have to check with my Bothan spies in the mean time.
  2. It sounded like as if Michael Giacchino did the the trailer using Williams music. Liked it nonethe less.
  3. Will we every get a full fledged Concert conducted entirely by Williams on Blu Ray someday? This blu ray dvd concert is great none the less but I'd like to see a more comprehensive conducted version of Williams music and conducted by him ofcourse!
  4. Naan Bread isnt actually Indian its more Afghan! lol..Chappatee bread is more the Indian equivalent . Have you ever tried pakoras? They're fairly easy to make - and paired with mint chutney, quite a delicacy! pakoras are best enjoyed on a rainy day along with mint and green chilli chutney
  5. While the unused music is facinating and wonderful on its own; I tend to think not using the cues helped the film breath a little. I think it adds to the realism of the story. But all in all my favourite unused cue is the brief battle with the probe droid between Han and the wookie. On another related subject: Can anyone shed why they didnt use the film version of the End credits on the Special Edition set or at least keep it as an alternate on the set. (I hope it wasn't Williams who vetoed the idea) That version is only available on the Arista Box set.
  6. Question is will the SACD reflect a new remix based on the original recorded mixes or will it use the album master devised by John Neal. The SACD format accentuates for a 5.1 experience so I am assuming this will be a different experience. Lets see.
  7. Indeed this a great album. I hope One day we get the original ET. and JAWS re-issued in the same format,

  9. I'am a collector and only recently have started collecting LPs. Mostly for nostalgia sake as I like the Jackets too. I still do not have a turntable to myself but when the budget allows me I will make the investment. But before that I need to upgrade from PS3 to PS4! Only recently I paid $100 + shipping for the rare OOP Sealed copy of DCC's RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK LP. ( I had friend send me his VInyl rip in lossless for me to enjoy in the meantime time) I already have EMPIRE OF THE SUN, SUPERMAN, and the original OST LP of RAIDERS which I picked off from Amoeba store in LA some 4 years ago!.
  10. I got another signed picture but this is the traditional BSO picture whick came with a printed interview. This was last year! I think this came via the Boston Pops address.
  11. The previous expansion also had different film mixes. False Alarm sounds very different than its film version.
  12. I wish I was with a label but then I would be obligated not to reveal anything. And here Iam playing by way of deductive reasoning. It could be WAR OF THE WORLDS or CE3K. Who knows? We are all just guessing. There are so many clues out there. Infact, around the time of the Superman box set and Varese Deluxe Home Alone 2 Mike Mattessino did an interview where he emphasized on other great scores of Williams such as Empire of the Sun, Home Alone, HOOK, AI, 1941 and today we have all these out.And lets not forget E.T. Its bound to happen someday.
  13. Could be an all Extra Terrestrial based FILM soundtrack set.But MM has already dissed ET.So how about WAR OF THE WORLDS ???
  14. I wish, I wish I knew, so I am wishing upon a star! :-)
  15. Its not E.T. But you may look up at the stars and make a wish.
  16. I think MV used that post as launch pad for something else. We know there are other Williams projects in the brewing at LLL. So I guess he means its SOME THING ELSE more important and definitive than HOME ALONE 25TH ANNIVERSARY release. I suspect another majestic 2 or 3CD set release with no one other than Mike Mattessino involved. Ahh! La La Land! - Where dreams are born and specially when one wishes upon the stars.
  17. Lets not forget the alternates if any and ofcourse the remastered sound. Im not too happy with my Varese cd as it sounds a bit shrill. Plus hoping that Mike Mattesino wprked on its assembly. It would be amazing then. Lets wait and see and later on of course the original JAWS
  18. Never has these pics been so scrutinized since that infamous zapruder film.
  19. I missed that thread, can you post the link Icanus
  20. At the recent 30th Anniversary celebration party by Intrada, various beautiful collage posters were placed show casing some wonderful releases from them including some cleverly hidden covers of future release. One of them appears to be JAWS 2! :-)( Its hidden between PATTON and COCOON beneath AGENT CODY BANKS) Intrada also posted these posters sheets on facebook. But the one showcasing the JAWS 2 had been photoshopped. At first I thought it was JAWS but its most likely JAWS 2. The unedited poster sheet was spotted on facebook page.
  21. Warners Bro is pretty much open to LLL. WITCHES is bound to happen-it just may take some time. My biggest Williams wishlist item however is JFK. But that has big rights issue mess. Hope someone is able to clear that up. I'd love LLL to dig that out.
  22. I don't remember if I have seen this and we discussed it. Source? The intrada forum? By the way, I was wondering if Quartet has any Williams. I asked them at FSM if they do and they didn't reply, BUT they did reply to someone else earlier that asked about Marnie, and they said they have no Herrmann in the pipeline. I think LLL has mentioned it very vaguely that they have more Williams projects lined up. Even Mike Matttessino has hinted that their collaborations with the LLL/John Williams will yield more opportunities for the future. And Intrada recently confirmed in a post by Doug Fake that th
  23. Well Doug at Intrada has hinted that they have John Williams lined up. No timelines given. It looks like two projects. But I can make an educated guess that the first one could be JAWS! Plus we have LLL preparing more JW projects so I guess these are good things to hope for until we get the new STAR WARS movie score.
