  1. @BloodBoal The focus will be exclusively on Williams. I doubt the other HP composers will be on the limelight just now. Jurassic Park III is slated for later release by LLL. The usp for LLL is to focus on Williams scores which are exclusive ( as witnessed in the Williams JP set)
  2. Lets not forget the 40th Anniversary of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND and STAR WARS this year. Also expected this year is THE TOWERING INFERNO and possibly JFK (possibly delayed to 2018). We also have the WITCHES OF EASTWICK's 30th anniversary. Since LLL/ MM has now a great working relationship with Williams-Spielberg and their management. A Spielberg related project should get full priority. A comprehensive INDY score box set would be the right way to go i.e if all studio arrangements are sorted out, With the current Lucasfilm-Disney merger; this does complicate things. But I'm hopeful. These BIG folks trust Mike Matessino and he now seems to be a driving force between reason and logic in handling these projects so meticulously and with the right business approach. We were so luck to get THE LOST WORLD as a 2cd set. And most recently inclusion of PETE 'N TILLY on the Varese's STANLEY & IRIS set.
  3. It wouldn't make sense for a HP 1 & 3 set. HP II was to a large extent a fresh Williams score even though conducted and adapted by Williams Ross. But it is Williams and we've had the SUPERMAN BOX set with Williams and Ken Thorne's sequel scores as well. So I don't see why it shouldn't be a box set for all 3 films here as they remain exclusive to Williams name and estate. MM has warned us to start saving as well. Its points out to a box set or something larger at least. If it isnt INDY JONES set or STAR WARS then it should be HP! Unless we get INDY BOX set and HP scores then it would be 'Exsultate Justi' for all of us! Right?
  4. Depends on their deal. Iam predicting on the basis of what MV was saying. It has to be something that will out do the last batch.
  5. Harry Potter: The John Williams Collection This has a nice ring to it. Doesn't it ? I would love this set to be the 'jaw dropping' OMG moment this year from LLL! Imagine a 6 or 7 CD set being announced on a Black Friday. It would certainly beat the Jurassic Park set.
  6. Has EPISODE VIII scoring sessions resumed? Cellist Armen Ksajikian just posted pics via facebook with Daisy Ridley at Sony Pictures scoring stage.
  7. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this: 'Young Indy's First Adventure' from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade A favourite of mine. It has an abbreviated beginning and closes with slam bang coda concert style. In the Indy Box set this music is broken into two cues. It would have made a great cue to start the Williams Spielberg Collaboration III album, Kinda sore about it.
  8. As per THX99 the quotes mentions 'Studio' I suspect its a fresh studio recording. It doesn't make sense if this being a pet project which has been in the making for quite some time that it would be presented as a lIve recording instead of a high quality studio recording?. Has there been a precedent where Lockhart has done Live performances for one of his albums?
  9. This is a gorgeous and rich score which I enjoy listening to while trekking over mountain ranges. Its quite effective as a zen kinda of a score that totally transports and isolates you with nature. And that finale cue is just gorgeous: one of the best. Its a pity most of the music was dialled out in the film and not used.
  10. I'am happy with that but it may sound uneven if the acoustics of the studio recording and a LIVE recording don't match. That doesn't make much sense. I think they will go with a full studio recording for the cd album and the concert programs would be the performance of the same cues.
  11. I'd love to hear SLEEPERS, FAR AND AWAY, THE PATRIOT, HOME ALONE, DRACULA and MIDWAY (already hinted at) plus aforementioned THE TOWERING INFERNO and the JFK suite!
  12. So does that mean the album is going to be an independent studio recording and not a live recording of the concert? That would be great!
  13. Karen Allen is hosting the show so that means we can get 'Marion's Theme' or other themes from RAIDERS-I'd prefer to have The Basket Chase cue!
  14. Oh I didn't know BSO had a label of its own. Is it the RCA Victor label? Also I'm thinking that the missing pieces from A.I. WAR OF THE WORLDS and THE LOST WORLD (from the Williams Spielberg album) might just end up in this program and could have been intentionally left out for this exclusive concert. Does anyone know if BSO will announce the program titles before hand and when? .The Concert is going to be recorded first week of April (7th & 8th)
  15. So the recorded album will be released via Sony Classical? It does seem likely but has the label been mentioned anywhere as yet?
  16. Great Gem of score which is actually quite underrated. And one of my favourite drama scores. This was one of the most rewarding and enjoyable scores by Williams( in his subliminal dark mode). I really cant really describe it but @Romão has described as 'Autumnal' and 'urban' - and this is just apt description. Its also a very moody score and not sunny or bright as we usually expect from Williams. When I'm in my most depressive moments I play this to sooth myself. It works. The film is also great and I bought a copy from a store in Hell's Kitchen, NY ! i love playing ' The Trip To Wilkinson' during a foggy road trip. By the way, I find 'The Football Game' driving ostinato rhythms akin to 'The Hunt' from THE LOST WORLD.
  17. Strangely for some reason I cant find the message anymore -I think it was on twitter Or Instagram via Varese Sarabande. Maybe somebody spilled the beans a bit early and had it removed.
  18. Just saw a flash announcement on my smart phone that the Wondercon Convention will showcase Vinyl reissues of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK -Gerhardt album, and THE EIGER SANCTION. Will post more details shortly. UPDATE: Ok I think I found it. Its some feedback at the Varese Wondercon Twitter announcement, about which Titles you would like to see on VINYL. So somebody mentioned EMPIRE and EIGER as a wish list. So since I read that very quickly and couldn't find the post. Im new to Twitter and dont use it enough to properly understand it. So it was a false alarm. Sorry, my bad. But it would be cool to see these Williams titles on Vinyl. I for one love the Gerhradt recording and I like the artwork. P.S. I have changed the Topic text as it was misleading.
