Amer got a reaction from Deacon Blues in SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE - 3CD Set from La-La Land Records
Seriously? No. Not if you have two toddlers around you, long office hours, business travels and a gym routine. You tend to pile up your newest acquisitions until you find the right time to open up your cds as well as occasionally revisit other cds from your collection.
Don't make presumptuous. It's tough when you have little time and a blazing passion for your music and a Life.

It’s going to be like Star Trek III, and either Palpatine’s or Luke’s soul is going to be stored in C-3PO.

Your priorities are:
John Williams
Jerry Goldsmith
Everything else

I know the feeling. I think I'm about 400 releases behind (I have stuff that I bought 20 years ago that I still haven't listened to). I need to get my priorities straight

David Arnold should really do an MI score.

I had my copy of Harry Potter set on 1st Jan this year and I only got around to playing it until last last week! And I've yet to play Chamber of Secrets. But I just opened my set of AI and have been playing this non stop.
So many releases and so little time. But it's fun. Got about 50-60 more releases to get to. All sealed up in my CD cabinet.

The Rebellion is Born is a Waltz. It's based on that same meter.

For those of you who had to order replacement discs - were you not able to play the discs, or was it that the discs had visual defects (like a minor scratch but still played fine)?

Amer got a reaction from Yavar Moradi in PLANET OF THE APES - Film Series 5CD box set from La-La Land Records (2019)
To date Iam only familiar with the original Planet of the Apes film and score. Never got around to see the remaining sequels(even though I have the movies on my blu ray book set) So Iam intrigued about the other titles on the score set. I have only recently been taken over (say enamored) by Rosenmans music specially for ROBOCOP 2, so I look forward to hearing his score.

How so? I give my true opinion of things, which is sometimes negative. But I actually do *try* to like every score I buy. I’ve been trying to love Beneath the Planet of the Apes for over a decade ever since I got the FSM release. FSM is/was my favorite film music label, because their liner notes were always so consistently great and insightful, that even if I didn’t always click with the score at first, I got a lot out of the accompanying booklet and often the score would grow on me thanks to the writers’ work in helping me connect with it.
Well...the liner notes for all the Apes scores FSM released were excellent. But Beneath never grew on me. I tried it multiple times, and I always found it an unpleasant listen, difficult to connect with and enjoy even if I could understand what Rosenman was going for.
I’ll give it another honest shot when I get my LLL set and maybe the intervening years will make a difference. Star Trek IV eventually grew on me beyond the finale cue, after the new Intrada expanded edition (even though it’s still easily my least favorite Trek feature score).
But you know how I know I’m not “so critical of everything”? Because so many years ago, when I so disliked Rosenman’s Beneath score despite my efforts, when I tried the FSM release of his later score to Battle for the Planet of the Apes, to my surprise I liked it a lot! I didn’t go in determined to be critical just because I disliked Rosenman’s previous effort (and a lot of his other scores). I still gave it a fair chance and enjoyed it quite a bit.
I’m curious if @Brundlefly will have a similar experience when he gets to the last disc of the set.

Amer reacted to Pawel P. in ACROSS THE STARS - Williams / Mutter collaboration album
The arrangement is the same, the differences are very subtle. Besides, Mutter's style of playing is slightly different than Perlman's.
When I listen to this CD, I can easily imagine how much fun Williams had when he was creating these arrangements. He didn't want to beat the originals, this isn't what this album is about. It's about great art, friendship and time spent together. It's about enjoying music that is able to cross all boundaries.

Her Mozart’s Turkish concerto with Karajan is among by favourite interpretation of this work, even if Karajan slowered the tempo a bit for her. She was what, 13-14 yo on this historical recording?

I think it's my holy grail: Disney's ONE OF OUR DINOSAUR'S IS MISSING (Ron Goodwin). One of the most requested titles from the guys. It's also the first thing I asked Lukas Kendall when I met at the FSM office during the FSM Label days.

New title on August 27th.
Update from Doug: 8/17/2019:
Vacations are wrapping up for the time being. When Kay returns for duty this coming week, the whole team should be on hand… at least for another week or two! Our next new CD release is scheduled for August 27. There are a number of additional releases approaching the finish line but these days studio staffing remains pretty busy and final approvals tend to move a lot slower than they did in “the old days”. I’m doing double duty, on one hand wrapping up another 1970’s Disney world premiere and on the other hand studying in depth the original manuscripts for the entire Dial M For Murder score, our new recording project happening in just about three weeks or so. Also ahead are a pretty cool set of discs for what amounts to an almost world premiere, and soon afterwards we should be seeing the arrival of a terrific, personal favorite which was at one point going to be simply the best audio release of a classic album from several decade ago, itself a re-recording, only to have things happily result in a world premiere release of the actual soundtrack recordings as well. And there’s plenty more beyond those, too. Stay tuned.
