Sonically, JEDI sounds so good! Its a shame that the RCA 2CD edition pales in comparison even though it has more music.

I expect it's still coming, but something less cryptic would've helped. Maybe a 'yeah, it's coming out in a few months', or 'no, we have no idea because of xyz'. He's probably just trying to be funny here since it's been asked so many times. I don't imagine they'd lose interest in wanting to release it, but I also imagine this will be the last time they ever pre announce a title only to have it be held up for so long. 

Is that the most innovative way yet of saying it's held up by legal crap?

But then I notice I don't have eggs in the fridge. How can I make chocolate chip cookies without eggs? So my wife offers to go to the supermarket, but then I get a call as she is in the egg aisle and says they're out of eggs. So I'm thinking, again, how am I going to make these cookies without eggs? Maybe a different supermarket? Maybe I shouldn't be doing this and just get an umbrella and ignore the chocolate chips. I do enjoy a good chocolate chip cookie, though. It's great. Tribal and dark; xylophones get a workout. Very layered, but with an infectious rhythmical setup. Elfman would revisit some of the same ambiance in his "Insanity" song from the last Boingo album in 1994.

Quartet Records, in collaboration with Capitol Records and Universal Music Entertainment, present a 2-CD set with a revised, remastered, slightly expanded edition of scores for two landmark made-for-television films composed by John Williams (STAR WARS, E.T., JURASSIC PARK, HOOK) between 1968 and 1970.
 
Both of these adaptations of classic stories were presented by Omnibus Productions and directed by Delbert Mann, and both also earned Emmy® Awards for John Williams’ original music. Through these scores, the composer shaped the destinies of two classic literary characters as well as his own.
Every effort was made to locate surviving audio elements for both HEIDI and JANE EYRE. The discovery of the original ½″ four-track masters from HEIDI containing all of the cues selected for the 1968 narrated story album facilitated an attentive new mix of the music and a presentation in narrative order. The narration record was newly transferred by Universal Music Group and is presented after the musical score.
 
For JANE EYRE, a new high-resolution transfer of the 1971 ¼″ stereo album master was provided by Universal Music Group, with audio then fully restored. This is followed by four tracks of additional material, including a short segment of source music that is heard in the film but was not on the album. The other three tracks are alternate performances of three selections recorded for the album, “To Thornfield,” “Restoration” and the “Love Theme.” This material was sourced from two ½″ 3-track tapes that were discovered at Twentieth Century Fox in early 2019. While no additional score cues could be located, the recovery of any new material from this enduring and highly regarded John Williams work is most welcome.
 
The entire collection has been painstakingly remixed, restored, assembled and mastered by Mike Matessino, preserving all the freshness of the original recording. The package includes a 28-page full-color booklet with in-depth liner notes by film music writer John Takis and classy art direction by Jim Titus.

Well, Mike M. said that for Jane Eyre, all they had was the "hot" album master with baked-in distortion (not counting the two reels they found with alternate takes of a few cues, and one unreleased source cue, which sound much better).
 
Jane Eyre is my favorite Williams score so it's a bummer no other material was found to do something better, but it's still the best this masterpiece of a score has ever sounded on album.

The funny story is that I already had LONELY ARE THE BRAVE cd until a few weeks ago. Apparently I was playing this and the MIDWAY Deluxe Edition in my car. While getting out of the car at the end of the day I Apparently placed these discs on my car hood while taking out the groceries and forgot about to pick them back in the moment. A while later drove away. Occasionally hearing a strange swishing sound.Which I mistook for some thing else in my car storage. Even made an extra bump on the road to have what ever it was to settle down. The odd swishing soon dissipated and I went about my business. Next morning I did wonder if the cds were still in my car as their designated space on my shelves at home was still empty. Anyways, when I visited to car to drive to work I noticed MIDWAY neatly fixed on the car back side window where it had somehow lodged itself.

The horror dawned suddenly. I now knew the gravity of the situation. The mystery of the odd swishing sounds suddenly became clear. The cds were mistakenly left on the top of my car hood clumsily and now the OOP Very rare and expensive LONELY ARE THE BRAVE CD was gone!! In the short period I tried looking briefly around if it was still here or not. I even visited the place while driving where I had the swishing sounds.But alas. ..there was no sign of it or even broken cd tray or disc. The set was gone. Later in the evening I thoroughly scoured the area but it was now apparent. It was lost.So I sighed and accepted the defeat. I knew it would be a rare thing to find the disc set again and Ebay probably had it a humungous price value.

But then I remembered a fellow who was selling a number sealed rare cds at very affordable prices and I had his list. I checked and lo and behold. He still had it and I emailed the fellow and he confirmed it back . So ladies and gents ..a BIG thank you and appreciation to John Johnson [ a fellow respectable FSMer] who has been instrumental in getting me some rare gems for quite some time.Trust worthy and very amicable in his dealings. He certainly has a treasure trove of rare items including many of them which are brand new and still sealed. Please connect with him to seek any of your holy grails. Chances are he has 'em!!

I believe that Douglas said that it was his favourite film that he had acted in.

You should pick this up. His disaster scores are more dated. Jane Eyre in particular is timeless. It is very much related to later Williams scores you probably love. Do you like Prisoner of Azkaban and/or the "Across the Stars" love theme from Attack of the Clones? Then you will ADORE Jane Eyre. It is an utter masterpiece. A shame more of it couldn't be found but it is still a fantastic album and will 100% sound like the John Williams you already know and love, I promise.

The first purchases of 2024!

I just purchased the two FLACs from the latest Mutter album (the tracks composed by John Williams), as well as the physical CD titled 'James Newton Howard - Night After Night (Music From The Movies Of M. Night Shyamalan).'

I got the above from Boston Pops directly after doing dome clever emailing. Years and years ago!

This autograph is up on eBay with no reserve and a $1 opening bid, and it looks good. It's also on the usual white-bordered photo Williams signs to send through the mail. Good luck!
 

Hands down one of the greatest scores ever written and I'm so happy that it's back in stock for all of those who missed out on LLL brilliant presentation of the score!
