  1. Yes! There is the cafeteria and numerous tents selling beer and wine. I’ll be there so I’d love to meet up with fellow JWFans!
  2. No. Tanglewood on Parade traditionally ends with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with actual cannons on the lawn. There's a sense that no encore can beat that sound, especially as it's usually played by an oversized orchestra of both BSO players and Tanglewood Music Center students. One concert I attended in the late 2000s had Williams on the podium for that piece and it must have been such a privilege for those youths to play under his baton!
  3. Yes. Maybe add it to your cart while you're waiting to get through, then empty cart to free up the seat when the agent is on the line ready to snag it for you.
  4. Call Symphony Charge (BSO Box office). Even if non-refundable, lawn tickets can usually be exchanged for shed tickets. I upgraded a seat the last time I went four years ago and just paid the difference.
  5. Yes. You could have written about an out-of-stock T-Shirt from the movie Frozen 2 and Disney would have sent you the exact same response, word for word. 😅
  6. Wow you’ll be so close you can ask directly for a Dial of Destiny CD reissue! 😂
  7. This is why I think Congress should add a "use it or lose it" clause in copyright law, so that the rights holder can't seek civil damages from someone making bootleg copies available, because clearly by not making (and keeping) works available for purchase, Disney themselves have estimated the market value of the product to be nil. I'm in the process of watching "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and there are four episodes missing from streaming services because of Disney's censorship since they bought FX. If someone were to make a DVD or Blu-ray available of the missing episodes and got sued, a judge should tell Disney to go fly a kite as by pulling these works from legal distribution, they themselves have deemed their value to be zero. Same goes for The Simpsons' Season 3 premiere (Michael Jackson episode).
  8. Wow... I was also waiting to see if it would become available on Amazon or another retailer so I could combine it with another item to get free shipping. I should call the Tanglewood Glass House (gift shop) just for kicks to see if they can get a few copies in time for Film Night.
  9. I was lucky to get one in Section 5 earlier this week. How many of us are going in total? Always up for a pre-concert beer with fellow JWFans!
  10. I'm still waiting on tickets becoming available as shed tickets are currently sold out, but usually I go to Albany where lodging is much cheaper after the show. There'd be Greyhound service to NYC from there, though waiting for the bus in that area at at night might be a little sketchy.
  11. I'm planning a short December holiday road trip around this concert in Pittsburgh (never seen Heinz Hall and will try and see a Holiday Pops concert in Cincinnati too). Unfortunately tickets aren't offered to the general public until September 29th which is still far away. Would anyone have a subscriber promo code they could please send me privately?
  12. So will the CD release be available on other retailers (like Amazon)? Or is Disney now selling exclusively through their Emporium site?
  13. The Maestro himself with Ken-David Masur and Steven Spielberg. It’s now been almost 20 years since I first saw him in Boston! Every musical moment in his company is a gift no recording can replicate! The tension with which he conducted Schindler’s list this evening was remarkable. The orchestra responded with necessary rubato to every gesture during that piece, no matter how slight. This was truly the highlight of the night. As a side note, did the Maestro get laser or cataract surgery? First time seeing him without glasses (apart from the photographs from his youth).
  14. Heading back to Lincoln Center as we speak. Anyone up for a JWFan pre-concert drink meetup?
  15. It's been almost a year since the concert was announced. This change is undoubtedly due to health reasons. We would all like the Maestro to keep going until he's 100, but conducting (especially at fast tempos syncing to film) requires a lot of energy and at 91 he's already a decade over the average life expectancy. Given how it's sold out and turnbacks get snapped up within minutes, you can try and ring the NYPhil and ask for a refund, but you might regret it. Getting to see him in person is an immense privilege, and even if he can only conduct part of the concert, one should appreciate every moment as if it were the final concert.
  16. Hi everyone. Didn't plan to come to this concert at first, but given how it might coincide with my flight back from Europe, I'm hoping for a ticket to become available for Tuesday night. If anyone has a spare to sell, let me know!
  17. Liberty Bell in the historic area museum (east of downtown, closer to the river). Some like to check out all the Rocky locations (steps of City Hall, etc). Must eats would be an authentic cheesesteak at Geno's (or Pat's) just south of downtown. Note on this: they like taking orders as quickly as possible. Have cash on hand and simply indicate the type of cheese you want on it (American, provolone, CheezWiz) and with/without onions. For shopping, PA has no sales tax on clothes (up to $300 I think). Nearby Delaware has no sales tax on anything. I'd be up for a pre-concert meetup as will of other JWFanners care to join?
