  1. Yes this is a huge beef I have with Zimmer. Even when the actual composition is good, or interesting, the recording is often just poo. Indeed, that's the point. Zimmer's music sometimes is good, it just sounds bad. In other words, he's good in composing, but he sucks in everything else. I'd also really love to get the music when Indy and Henry are tied up in the castle and the room start getting fire. I mean the moment when the Zippo falls on the carpet.
  2. A) It should not look 80's but 30's. That was one of the points of the movie... B) Ford Eyes in a selleck photo? I hardly doubt that since those aeyes are blue. I don't really think the covers look '80s, I just said that based on the post I quoted. I don't think they look '30s neither, I just like them the way they are, no matter which decade or century or millenium they are or supposed to look like. :-)
  3. You should have your heart ripped out from a Thuggee for what you've just said!! That' really cool, I hope that will be the real artwork. You probably don't know that that was the cover of the original 1981 release, dude. That's history. But, on the other hand, they now call this movie "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" so maybe the cover will have this title? I'd prefer the original version, though. Couldn't say. I just do. Far better, in my opinion, is the one with Indy cracking the whip. This one makes Indy looks so old and so eighties or whenever that type of mustache was in style. He also looks a lot bigger, almost heavey, in that picture. Over all, I just really don't like it. Aww, come on...it was 1981, it MUST look '80s, if it makes any sense at all. The whole Trilogy was made in the '80s, ya know... As for the mustache thing, they must have photoshopped Ford's eyes on a Tom Selleck photo. Mirko - who wrote the Tom Selleck joke one minute before finding out that Marc already did it, but was too proud to not cancel it.
  4. I rather buy the indy box set. Oh please, don't go off-topic. No it's not. it's out of print, just like the others. Well, I said my experience. I've found it in every store I've looked in my life. From the small one where I bought my copy, to the Virgin Megastore in New York City or any big stores I looked in (while searching in vain for, at least, the 1995 Raiders release, which I eventually bought later on eBay). And please, don't say "like the others". That just makes my copy of the Temple of Doom OST (with Japanese booklet, dammit) paid more than 50 bucks look like any other regular purchase. I still have to check out the re-issue of that Trilogy re-recording, though. Is it any worth for someone (like me) who bought the first version of it? Which are the differences?
  5. No, I've already answered to that. I said I'm halfway between 20 and 30, which, if you can count, means I'm 25. (it's also on my profile page!)
  6. Aren't you like 20? I'm halfway between 20 and 30. But it's not the years, honey, it's...ehm, I mean...I've been a fan of Indy since I was a child, that means I was born in the '80s AND I'm a fan of Indy since the '80s.
  7. Stefan and Mark are right, Trent. You're too young to understand!
  8. Well, this is nothing new...we all know that every Indy movie has music in almost the whole movie...in fact, using your numbers, Temple of Doom has about 100 minutes out of being a 118 minutes movie, while Last Crusade has about 115 minutes out of 127 minutes movie...so, back to the thread, we'll getting incomplete single CDs or kinda serious 2 CDs releases. But then again, both of them (execially the Temple of Doom OST) was so incomplete that even a single CD is a really welcomed release, finally!
  9. I think he has the whole original tapes hidden somewhere in his immense amount of chins.
  10. Yes, of course they'll be expanded. But I think they both will be on one CD. If both Temple of Doom and Last Crusade gets a serious 2 CDs release, it means that Lucas have been reading this board and all the online petitions for quite a lot of years now. And also keep in mind that the Last Crusade OST CD is still available in almost any CD store, so I don't think it makes any sense to re-release the same identical CD which it's still available.
  11. And, most importantly, there's no word about the tracklist of Temple of Doom and Last Crusade. I fear that the answer of your 4th question it's that there will be just 5 CDs. I mean, we only know the tracklist of Raiders, and that fits on only 1 CD. Of course I hope that Temple of Doom and Last Crusade will be REALLY expanded, but I highly doubt that. Overall, I think that, in the end, we waited so long for these two scores to be expanded, that we must be happy with this box-set because it's still better than nothing...
  12. Yes, not cool about having another of the new score CD, and yes, of course I read abut the other two as well. That's a good news. Bye.
  13. Oh, my bad. I forgot to check out the main page. So that means that buying the box-set I'll have a double copy of the soundtrack of The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?
  14. Do someone who opens a message board for the first time after almost an year looks like he has the time to read 11 pages of a thread?
  15. Yes, this is cool, but why Raiders again? I mean, this is the second Expanded release, why keeping ignoring Temple of Doom and Last Crusade? It makes me think we'll never get them, as I was hoping that with the release if the fourth movie something was going to change and that finally we could get some serious music release, but that's it. I'll buy this, but it'll be the same story happened with the 1995 release. Same discussions about what new and about which and where are the few seconds missing, and why they still haven't make a REALLY complete 2 CDs release, once and for all.
  16. Did this subject really deserved a thread on his own? I already posted this some time ago here. I though that every Indy-IV related discussion did belong in just the one and only Indy IV thread...
  17. Indeed, me too. But easily I'd be sending him an SMS asking for the goddamn complete releases ToD and LC, since it's about fuckin' time we should have 'em. Well, maybe not with this tone.
  18. It depends. If someone like Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis or Martin Lawrence say it, it should be funny. But written by this buck dude ain't. Where's that quote from anyway? As for what Damo said. Yes. Of course there will be differences on how the movie will look like. 18 years can't be ignored. Just look on how "normal" and realistic was Die Hard With A Vengeance and how Live Free or Die Hard has some exaggerate scenes (seen it last night and loved it...right Romão? ) in it. But the important thing is that Spielberg tried his best to get Indy IV to look as much as possible similar to the Trilogy. It means trying to use CGI less than possible, not avoiding it at all costs. There will be more special effects than ever before, but it's inevitable. But I'm sure Spielberg just used them when it was inevitable.
  19. Part 2 of my yesterday's post. Are you really a fan? You're basically said that you don't care if a release is missing music that instead should have been on it. You must be joking. Or either you've never listened to the ToD or the LC score. Both are too incomplete to be true. Also, your last sentence looks like it's an annoying thing for you to have Williams liner notes. I actually like them (and Spielberg ones as well). 8O ^_^ Shit man, does EVERY post of you need about your wish of seeing Williams dying? It was barely funny the first time, but I've read so many post of you now in this thread, and now you've passed the limit. It's great when people like you realize when it's time to stop, think about it.
  20. I bought the limited edition version (the one with the scented donut-shaped CD case) in the Virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney (near Orlando) and paid it 19.99$ , so it's evident that if you paid 60$ for it you're insane. Amazon robbed you. You should check regular stores before buying through the internet.
  21. I think Hamilton has a real talent (but in the end he didn't controlled the pression) but in the second half of the season he started getting helped too many times by those who works in the tracks. He must show that he can win honestly, without external helps. But I understand that growing up in such a dishonest team (he's been in McLaren for like 10 years now) didn't help to get a clean personality. I mean, before the China GP, he was one step away to win mathematically, but instead of be content with just making the points he needed (arriving second was enough) he preferred to win at all costs...and he paid that with that error (and he also did another error in the final GP too). And of course he and his "friend" Alonso were about to win using a silver Ferrari, you know what I mean. I like Alonso. If wasn't for Raikkonen, I would have preferred him to win instead of Hamilton. Apart the fact he won his first championship just because Ferrari wasn't supported by decent tyres (otherwise the car was superior than Renault in 2005) he's a great driver, certainly one that could face the legendary Schumacher without many problems. I also like the fact that watching Formula 1 I started to appreciate and become familiar with so many anthems! German and Spanish in the past years, I was too little for the Brazilian one at the Senna's era but now there's Massa, and finally with the Finnish one. Right now, one that watches Formula 1, can often listen to these anthems: - Finnish (when Raikkonen wins) - Italian (when a Ferrari driver wins) - English (when Hamilton and a McLaren driver wins) - Brazilian (when Massa wins) - Spanish (when Alonso wins) - French (when a Renault driver wins...like Alonso next year again?) - German (well, not often anymore...another reason to miss Schumi...listening to German's anthem and then the Italian one became over the years like an unique mix) All of these are among my favourite anthems. The only one that isn't present is the American one, but we just don't need the U.S.A. to be predominant in this sport too. Funny enough is that there's an American driver named Scott Speed...whose slow.
  22. Time to recover the lost time of the discussion That's what happens when you wait too many years to shot a sequel...people can't wait! Yeah, I definitely agree with Spielberg. In addition of being excited to see the movie itself, and to hear Williams' score, I also can't wait to see Struzan's poster(s - since usually there's more than just the official one), as it's always a great way to start the movie experience. And Harrison Ford as Indy!! (dedicated to whoever, in a thread here some year ago, didn't wanted Ford as a new Indy, but prefer other actors, the most named of whom was Viggo Mortenshit ) And this is why I have faith in the production. Thank you for keeping it grounded, Spielberg! Ray Barnsbury Couldn't agree more. Inddy IV MUST look as much similar as possible to the other 3, so that you couldn't tell that 17 years are passed between the last one (in fact it was already a great thing that LC looked similar as Raiders, even if 8 years passed between the two movies). I don't like this Raiders poster. Indy doesn't even have the fedora! I like the LC poster you posted, but I like the official one a little more. I think re-releasing the 3 OSTs can be a good move. As of now, the only OST easily available is LC. Both OST and Expanded Raiders are rare and OOP (making it quite expensive like the DCC Expanded one I bought on eBay), and ToD is a really archeological gem. I only found the (damn expensive) Japanese import, so re-releases (with improved sound...they say) of the three OSTs will make fans get the chance to own them without having to spend a shitload of dead presidents. I have a couple more quoted posts which I can't add yet because I passed the board limit of quotations. ^_^
