  2. Does anyone know if Fox is planning on connecting their X-Men movies with their Fantastic Four movies, and other upcoming films? As of a few days ago, they had these films planned: 2015 Aug 7 Fantastic Four 2016 Feb 12 Deadpool May 27 X-Men Apocalypse 2017 March 3 Wolverine 3 July 14 Fantastic Four 2 2018 July 13 X-Men 8 Unscheduled X-Force Gambit Well yesterday Fox announced some new plans, namely: Gambit is coming October 7, 2016, starring Channing Tatum (Gambit was previously played by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) Fantastic Four 2 was moved up a few months to June 2 2017 It's interesting that in the "main" Marvel universe, Disney has been sure to keep all the characters played by the same actors through. Meanwhile at Fox, they've recast Gambit, Jubilee, and Kitty Pryde, among other smaller roles, and have messed with timelines and rebooting a bunch of things. It doesn't seem like Disney Marvel will be doing that any time soon, though their universe is a lot younger than Fox's which started in 2000, eight years before Iron Man kicked off Marvel's own verse!
  3. Pixar has released a still and plot description for Inside Out http://io9.com/heres-what-we-know-about-pixars-next-movie-set-inside-1582104347
  4. http://www.thewrap.com/steven-spielberg-attached-direct-bfg-tom-hanks-cold-war-thriller-will-next-exclusive/ Apparently both Robopocalypse and the Montezuma film are "on the back-burner."
  5. I guess I'll start one. I think it's the best "blockbuster" style movie of the year. One where you can actually take the stakes seriously and care about what happens and make you feel something coming out of the cinema. The actors are all top notch and you can see everyone gave it their all to elevate the movies It can be accused of being a " teen romance" movie not worthy of older people's attention, but the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies also had romance as central elements of the films .Personally, I do not think Hunger Games has anything to do with the Twilight franchise (I saw most of them too) Catching Fire was clearly a better film than the first one, but the original Hunger Games was great too and very underrated IMO. I saw 3 trailers of blockbuster movies tonight, Godzilla, Spiderman 2 and 300part 2. All had the same CGI shots of cities and buildings falling over or being blown to bits...do we even care anymore about massive CGI destruction of cities? PS in second place is Desolation of Smaug for blockbuster this year
  6. Seriously, it's crazy. Here's an article I just read about it: http://www.hypable.com/2013/07/20/reasons-2015-is-going-to-be-absolutely-positively-insanely-incredible-at-the-movies/ The thing is, that article isn't nearly complete in terms of the giant films coming out in 2015! That article lists: Avatar 2, Avengers 2, Batman/Superman, Cinderella, Finding Dory, Hunger Games 4, Independence Day 2, James Bond 24, Jurassic Park 4, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Pitch Perfect 2, Star Wars 7, Terminator 5 Other films it didn't mention include: Alvin and the Chipmunks 4, Ant-Man (first Marvel Phase 3 film), Assassin's Creed, Fantastic Four 3 (actually a reboot), Hotel Translyvania 2, Inferno (sequel to Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons), Inside Out (New Pixar movie from Pete Docter), Kung Fu Panda 3, Peanuts (yes, Charles Schultz Peanuts), Penguins of Madagascar, Smurfs 3, and Tintin 2 How in the WORLD are any of these movies expected to make good money, with so many of them all coming out in the same year? This sounds like exactly what Steven Spielberg and Lukas Kendall are talking about. Things could change drastically after 2015 people! ... Of course, as a fan of many of these franchises, it's going to be fun year to be a fan at the cinemas!
  7. Seems like a project to follow, IMO. Cate Blanchett is playing the wicked stepmother, Lily James is playing Cinderella, and now Richard Madden has been cast as the Prince. This should be a good project for Patrick Doyle to sink his teeth into... probably a score with Nanny McPhee influences with a dash of Much Ado About Nothing. Disney hasn't set a release date, but since filming will start this fall... maybe a fall/holiday 2014 release?
  8. I mentioned this over in the Skyfall review thread, but wanted to create a new thread for discussion as the film goes through production. Apparently, Mendes is 75% sure he'll return to direct, and is waiting for the final script to be turned in. Craig, Fiennes, Harris, and Wishaw are all signed on to reprise their respective roles. If Mendes returns, surely we'll get Deakins and Newman again as well. This has suddenly become one of my most anticipated films.
  9. Admin note: For earlier news before JJ Abrams was signed, see Disney buys Lucasfilm and all subsidiaries for $4.05billion, will release Star Wars Episode VII in 2015 J.J. Abrams is directing Episode VII So at least we know who's scoring it then. Karol
  10. ...will be written and directed by Joss Whedon. He's also developing the recently revealed Marvel TV series. Source: Variety
  11. Terminator 5 and 6 are apparantly going to happen, with Arnold Schwarzenegger. http://www.moviehole.net/201254467schwarzenegger-locks-in-terminator-5-for-2013-start
  12. There are some plans for Jurassic Park IV. Spielberg seems to have a great idea, though director is yet to be announced. He said in a recent interview, that if it is made, it will be the last film in the series. I suppose that means that all the dinosaurs will die or something. It seems interesting to see an ending of the Jurassic Park series once and for all. If there will be a JP4, do you think Williams will score it??
