  1. (Posting this in a separate thread to hopefully give it more attention than if it were just in the Christopher Young thread) Christopher Young's Nosferatu CD recording Kickstarter is up: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nosferatu-music/christopher-youngs-nosferatu-a-symphony-of-horror-cd The goal is a hefty $50k. So far (after just a few hours) it's approaching the 10% mark, so hopefully it'll meet its goal within the month.
  2. So, a friend gave me a copy of an old Intrada CD "Hider in the House" for my birthday... and it's breathtaking. After listening to it and doing a little forum-digging, I came to the realization that Young isn't really discussed much here. Anyway, without further ado, I'll do what I can to alleviate this deficiency. A clip from Hider in the House: "Birth of Sandman" from Spider-Man 3: "Concerto to Hell" from Drag Me to Hell:
  3. Hi I am curious to see which one you like better between The Train Sequence originally scored by Danny Elfman and then later done by Christopher Young for the final film version. I will leave a link to youtube that has both Young's the Elfman's version! Let the battle begin!

  5. I just came across this recording from the second Fans of Film Music gathering at Dark Delicacies where a group of film composer formed a panel to whom the audience could put questions. They also discussed in length the state of modern film composing, the priviledge of composing for films and many other subjects. The composers in the panel were Charles Fox, Lee Holdridge, Brad Fiedel, Nicholas Pike, David Newman, Brian Tyler, Peter Hackman, Christopher Young and Ken Thorne and the event was hosted by Film Music Magazine's own Daniel Schweiger. Here is the link to the Film Music Magazine page where you can listen to the whole panel: http://www.filmmusicmag.com/?p=8416 There is surprisingly candid discussion about the industry and some criticism of the modern way of doing things. A great listen!
