http://buysoundtrax.greedbag.com/buy/halloween-the-sound-of-evil-0/ Now available for download at the Buysoundtrax.com GREEDBAG store for either $7.99 (MP3) or $8.99 (WAV) BuySoundtrax Records is proud to scare the bejeezus out of you this fall with the release of HALLOWEEN: THE SOUND OF EVIL – MUSIC FROM THE HALLOWEEN FILM SCORES, a newly recorded collection available digitally on October 2, 2013. The collection is the first to celebrate the music from the eight films in the original series and the two films in the re-imagined series and includes music by John Carpenter, Alan Howarth, John Ottman, Danny Lux, and Tyler Bates. The album is arranged and produced by Dominik Hauser. Filmmaker John Carpenter created not only the slasher film that reinvented the genre, but the music that would define terror for decades to come. “The piercing tonality of his shrill synth sustains took on the gleaming sheen of a butcher knife’s blade, while the electronic stabs of lower-end synth chords became the brutal blows of the killer’s slashing arm and the repetitive, tinkling piano notes became the spine-chilling icicles dripping down your spine,” describes Randall D. Larson, author of Musique Fantastique: 100 Years of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Film Music in the liner notes. Happy Halloween!

A BSX AUDIO BOOK PRESENTATION STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE Read by Robert Picardo Original Music by Dominik Hauser $24.95 LIMITED EDITION OF 1000 UNITS CLICK HERE to hear an Audio Sample from STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE SPECIAL NOTE: The first 100 Units purchased directly from BSX's website will be autographed by Robert Picardo BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presents Robert Louis Stevenson’s THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE as read and performed by actor Robert Picardo (STAR TREK: VOYAGER, STARGATE: ATLANTIS, THE HOWLING), featuring original music composed by Dominik Hauser. THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE is the first in a series of audiobook releases from BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presenting new dramatic readings from classic literature accompanied by original music scores. THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE is presented as a 4 CD set. The first three CDs contain a reading of the classic novella and the fourth CD contains the original score composed to accompany the reading. First published in 1886, STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE is the original title of the novella written by the famous Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. The work is commonly known today as THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE or simply JEKYLL AND HYDE and tells the story of a London lawyer named John Gabriel Utterson who begins to investigate strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll, and a stranger he comes to know as Edward Hyde. There have been dozens of stage and film adaptations of the novella; over 123 film versions alone, not including stage and radio versions. However there have been few major adaptations to date that remain faithful to Stevenson’s original text. Most omit the Utterson character, telling the story from Jekyll and Hyde’s viewpoint (as well as using the same actor for both roles), thus eliminating almost entirely the mystery aspect of the true identity of Edward Hyde, which was the original story’s twist ending and not the basic premise that it has evolved into today. In addition, almost all introduce a romantic element which does not exist in the original story. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Robert Picardo graduated from the William Penn Charter School. He entered Yale University as a pre-med student, unaware that he would one day be portraying doctors on at least two primetime television series: Dr. Dick Richard on the ABC series CHINA BEACH and the holographic doctor on STAR TREK: VOYAGER, not to mention his turns on BODY OF PROOF and CASTLE. While at Yale, Picardo landed the role of the Gospel Preacher in Leonard Bernstein’s ‘Mass’ and recreated the role in the European premiere of the work in Vienna. In 1974, armed with a BA in Drama from Yale, he enrolled at the Circle In The Square Professional Theater Workshop (fellow alumni include Kevin Bacon and Ken Olin). He waited tables for a brief period until his theater work began to prosper. In 1976, he appeared in David Mamet’s ‘Sexual Perversity In Chicago’, followed by ‘The Primary English Class’ with Diane Keaton. In 1977, Picardo, made his Broadway debut in the leading role in the comedy hit ‘Gemini’ with Danny Aiello. He went on to co-star with Jack Lemmon in ‘Tribute’ in 1978 on Broadway and in a West Coast run, which brought him to Los Angeles and he has been working in film and television ever since. Robert Picardo has been a regular cast member on long-running shows such as THE WONDER YEARS, STAR TREK: VOYAGER and STARGATE: ATLANTIS. He has guest starred on countless television series including TAXI, ST. ELSEWHERE, L.A. LAW, HOME IMPROVEMENT, THE OUTER LIMITS, ALLY MCBEAL, FRASIER, CROSSING JORDAN, STARGATE SG-1, COLD CASE, THE CLOSER, SMALLVILLE, PUSHING DAISIES, CHUCK, C.S.I. N.Y., JUSTIFIED, UNITED STATES OF TARA and most recently on BODY OF PROOF, HARRY’S LAW and THE MENTALIST. Picardo has appeared in over two dozen films including THE HOWLING, STAR 80, LEGEND, INNERSPACE, STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT, SMALL SOLDIERS and many more. Originally from Switzerland, composer Dominik Hauser received his education at the Jazz School St. Gallen in Switzerland, earning a masters degree in music. His talent extends from composition and arrangement to instrumental performance, including bass work for jazz-funkers The Ruleless. He is the recipient of the coveted Prix Walo and has taken the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 1996 Hauser relocated to Los Angeles, where he re-entered the education arena. His studies took him to UCLA where he delved deeply into film scoring. Subsequently he took his skills to the realm of indie cinema and began composing for film. Hauser was a privileged participant in the ASCAP film-scoring workshop in 2000 and elevated to semifinalist status at the Young Film Composer Competition in 2002. Hauser has worked on films featuring such superstars as Vin Diesel (THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK) and Charlize Theron (AEON FLUX). His work involves him in a variety of projects, including cinema, theater and video games. Recently, Hauser completed arranging and orchestration on the restoration of the first Best Picture Academy Award winner WINGS for the 2012 Paramount Pictures centennial celebration. BUYSOUNDTRAX Records presents THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, as read and performed by actor Robert Picardo, featuring original music composed by Dominik Hauser, mastered by James Nelson of Digital Outland. THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE is presented on 4 CDs.
