  1. Knockout Alan Silvestri soundtrack gets royal treatment! Smash-hit Touchstone Pictures & Steven Spielberg presentation finds Robert Zemeckis blending live action, animation in masterful ground-breaking fashion. 1988 film stars Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Stubby Kaye, Charles Fleischer, Joanna Cassidy… plus animated Roger Rabbit, Jessica Rabbit and plenty of “Toons”. Reunion of Spielberg, Zebecks & Silvestri after 1982 blockbuster Back To The Future spawns Los Angeles 40’s-era whodunit with boozed gumshoe Eddie Valiant sucked into solving murder of Toontown’s owner, with Roger, Jes
  2. Well it's definitely been a busy last few years for Mr. Silvestri! I addition to scoring new films Captain America, The Avengers, Flight, The Croods, and Red 2, there have also been a lot of re-issues, expansions, and world premieres of some of his older scores: On 2011-09-20, 1990's Young Guns II had its world premiere on Intrada Records. On 2011-11-02, 1987's Overboard had its world premiere on Music Box Records On 2012-03-06, 1987's Predator was finally given the definitive, unlimited treatment from Intrada Records. On 2012-05-14, 1986's Clan Of The Cave Bear was
  3. Check out the official website of D2 Mastering: http://d2mastering.com/ Click "Clients" in the upper left, and scroll down to "Soundtracks/Soundtrack Reissues 2013" BOOM. NOTE: I did not discover this myself, and if I had I would not have publicly posted about it in order to let the specialty labels do their own announcing. This was discovered by ScottDS on FSM and posted there, so I wanted to create a thread to discuss the news here. Again, no disrespect meant to Varese, I did not make this discovery or break this news. See the FSM thread where it broke here: http://filmscoremonthly.com/bo

  8. Eagle-eyed readers might notice that this track list is different than the previously announced digital download version..... which had this track list: Source: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007R7VHOM/ The reason is that it was decided to make the Intrada physical CD LONGER than the digital one!! Source: http://www.intrada.n....php?f=4&t=4781 How cool is that? Intrada is seriously a classy, top-notch label.
  9. Much like last year when D2 Mastering revealed that the Deluxe Edition of The Abyss was coming before Varese announced it, they have done so again for Predator 2. Source: http://d2mastering.com then click "clients" I cannot WAIT for this - the score is really great but the OST was incomplete and incorrectly mastered. This is gonna be awesome!
  10. Hi All, Omni Music Publishing editor here. I couldn't legally advertise this until now (long story), but the full score to Back To The Future is soon to be released, probably mid-July. Unfortunately, this will be a North America release ONLY, so far. I'm trying to get print permission for world ex. N. America, but to no avail. This has been a tough one, plagued with all sorts of permission issues, and there's a issue with the cover that hasn't been resolved. In the end, it's about the contents, and this is a great score that has some genuine moments of classic film music! Stay tuned . . .

  14. I think that Alan Silvestri is the new veteran in Hollywood and the successor of John Willaims. It's amazing that this man has never got an Oscar.
  15. Finally got around to posting my review of Silvestri's Avengers score. Read it here: http://musicbehindthescreen.blogspot.com/2012/05/quick-review-avengers.html
  16. Haven't written a review in a while, but I'm getting back on track, starting with Alan Silvestri's latest score for the Avengers: http://musicmusekk.wordpress.com/2012/05/10/the-avengers-alan-silvestri/ Enjoy! - KK
