Woot.

More details emerge, some new some not. The extremely spoiler-paraniod may want to avoid this, but it's very, very minor stuff:

USAToday.com spoke with producer Frank Marshall about Indy IV, who confirmed that the villains are not Nazis but rather Soviet agents since the story is set in 1957. More than that was revealed, however, so be aware of PLOT SPOILERS ahead ...

The paper said that Blanchett's character is "the seductive Agent Spalko." As Marshall reminds USA Today, "Indy always has a love-hate relationship with every woman he ever comes in contact with." One of these women is Karen Allen, who reprises her Raiders of the Lost Ark role as Marion Ravenwood.

While it didn't confirm rumors that Shia LaBeouf plays Indy's biker son, USA Today did reveal that Ray Winstone plays "an unethical rival archaeologist" to Harrison Ford's whip-crackin' Indy.

As for the the titular crystal skulls, Marshall told the paper, "The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers."

Nice enough, though not all that much to grab on to. I would have liked the heads surrounding him. He does have a great supporting cast (although than they'd have to put Shia up there.....but without it, yes).

Kinda reminds me of the TOD soundtrack cover.

Winzip can be downloaded and used for free.

But not used limitless. I think Lucusfilm has some contract with Winzip or so ROTFLMAO

Forget Winzip. I use 7-Zip. Completely freeware with no nags. Handles .ZIP and .RAR among other formats. Also works on Vista if that matters to you.

And the teaser looks great.

Not a doubt. This poster will be up on the cinemas theatres walls amongs other posters from other movies. Great background though with a stunning look of the crystal skull. It's a great poster.

WinRAR has a trial period but can continue to be used after it expires.

Indeed, only that one wasn't a Struzan.

It is good.

I wish Bob Peak did an Indy poster....

An Indy poster in primary colors? I think not.

Bring back Amsel!

Why? to do the same kind of work?

Basically they have the same style, regarding Indy posters.

As to composition, yes. As to techniques: no.

There's a neat feature on StarWars.com about Indy posters.

"The Mothership"

"Not Of This World"

Those will be included in the 2021 expanded release.

Another Drew Struzan Indy poster. He does nice work, but he's done so many of these (book covers, movie posters and other commissioned works) that they start to lose their uniqueness. In a book of his work, it will reside comfortably next to all of his other Indy art, but I don't see anything exceptional here.

I agree that it is not exceptional, however in my view a concept that works well doesn't need to be changed - it's just a nice poster nothing more, nothing less.

So it's brilliant because everything nowadays is crap?

Mate, you do talk some rubbish sometimes....

OOOOOOOOOOOK

Edition: Its refreshing to see one of the ol' good 'painting' posters from time to time, between all the photoshopped crap the throw into us.

BTW, isnt it an old saying: 'in the kigdom of the blind, the half-blind is the king'?.

I love the first one sheet, it's perfect and pure Indy - job done.

Related:

Empire magazine have noticed something in the poster which further supports the Ark of the Covenant link speculation in the new film.

Either that or they're just another bunch of Indy hyperbole loving fanboys who will see whatever their rabid eyes want to in the restless hunt for new information.

You decide

Bare in mind that unlike AICN, Empire usually posts stories which they believe to carry weight. But then this IS an Indy film, so....

Hmmm...it would be nice, but I seriously doubt it.

There are not big spoilers, but just in case.

The bits about the skulls and winstone's character maybe high spoilers for some poeple.

The bits about banchett and the time setting, well its just official confirmation on what we thought.

Gotcha. That's enough for me until May.

I think one can safely read this info, it's only things we already know, only told in some longer sentences, but it gives a nice overall picture of what we know up to now.

I'd guess it's just a typical Cold War anti-nuke protest that's going on.
