From SciFi.com:

Lucas: Indy IV Films In '07

George Lucas on Dec. 29 said that filming of the long-awaited fourth Indiana Jones movie will begin next year, the Associated Press reported.

Harrison Ford, who appeared in the three earlier films, is set to star again. Lucas said he and director Steven Spielberg recently finalized the script for the film.

Lucas kept mum about the plot, but said that the latest installment will be a "character piece" that will include "very interesting mysteries. ... I think it's going to be really cool," Lucas said.

"It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet," the 62-year-old filmmaker said during a break from preparing for his duties as grand marshal of Monday's Rose Parade, the AP reported.

Exact film locations have not been decided yet, but Lucas said part of the movie will be shot in Los Angeles.

The fourth chapter of the Indiana Jones saga will hit theaters in May 2008.

So whoever is living in LA or near LA....keep an eye out for anything that might be something to do with filming. I mean the film production crew and equipments and transportation or vehicles...if anyone sees it...we got some evidental prove that they are filming this film considering most people doesn't believe this update news will happen.

I reckon Williams score for Indy 4 would be way better then the actual film itself... especially he is at his highest peak level now...so it doesn't really matter if the film turn out bad because John Williams score is never ever is bad no matter what film it is.

You said that because you're not an Indy fan.

Real fans has always wanted a new movie after The Last Crusade, expecially since the wonderful story in 1992 about The Fate of Atlantis.

(Geez...it's already been 14 years...I feel old...why they didn't make a movie out of that?? This will always be a sad though regarding movies for me... :sleepy: - and to think how greatly would have been to have Williams' orchestral rendition of LucasArts famous trio of composers...).

Old computer games were a lot more playable than many modern games, but that wasn't the point.

The Atlantis game (if you know what I'm talking about) had a very long and well developed plot, which could have easily be used as a movie script.

They wouldn't have to work that hard to make a movie out of that game, since it was already well developed.

But that will remain a fan dream. :sleepy:

You know how much stick they would have gotten, don't you, if they used a plot already used in a computer game instead of an original story?

It's just a stupid fanboy wet dream for stupid wet fanboys who whipe their hand on their blankets afterwards.

I´m not saying I want a movie based on it. All I said was the game had a fantastic plot.

As for the movie itself, I can´t wait. With Indiana Jones and the Dark Knight, 2008 looks like a year to look forward to.

Perhaps with Spielberg doing this film it's very possible Williams will score it.

Maybe that is why Williams hasn't really scored an actual film this year, to probably take a break before tackling on Indy 4?

Williams will score this film, that's a given.

Funny though, I know a bunch of real IJ fans and they haven't been asking for a new film. Most were perfectly happy when it ended in 1989.

No, like other people have pointed out, even though we don't think it's a good idea we'll still go see the movie.

Plus we do get a new Williams score. But I can already tell you people here will be disappointed or won't like it because it will be written by JW of today, not the JW of 1977- 1989.

a tired old worn out John Williams, propped up by a reputation but no scores of late to add too that reputation

a tired old worn out Steven Spielberg propped up by too much viagra, and a false sense he can do no wrong,

and a tired old worn out Harrison Ford, propped up by a vomit spewing waif of woman who makes him think he's sexy,

present

Indiana Jones and the Search for the missing Dentures.

Im sure they are around here, somewhere, hey look theres and X marking the spot.

No I've already looked there. Indy cover your heart. Melissa broke it so bad kid, it aint worth covering.

Indy into the great unknown I go first, better you than me kid, and why are you talking like Yoda.

There will be two types of people, those that think this is a great movie,

and then there are the rest of the sane people who will recognize it for the piece of shit it will be.

and yet I hope it will be better than Least Crusade.

and by God we need a complete score to

Indiana Jones and the Number Four.

Should I mention I'd rather have number two?

we know you do, but I wanted to be the first to call for a complete score of number 4.

Like the judge in Miracle on 34th St, I will keep an open mind, like Steef said, and if its good I will say its good.

But given the quality of Munich, Terminal, the flaws of a very good WOTW, Im not sure Spielberg is up to the task.

Do you ever say anything constructive around here? EVER? If you do then linky please!

I cannot wait to see this movie. Even if it is "only" as good as Temple of Doom, I'll still be a very happy guy.

Oh and just as a sidenote: What would the people around here prefer most - a complete Indy 2 score, or Indy IV the movie?

If your answer is the former, then for you, all hope is lost my friend.

Has anyone considered the possibility that this new Indy might actually be good? It is foolish to judge a film before it has been released, let alone before it even begins shooting.

Doesn't that contradict your previous post?

Nah, I really REALLY wish to hear the altogether insignificant music that plays midway through the railcart sequence in crystal clear sound quality. I want this even more than a brand new Indy movie. I guess I must be a sad fucker too :)

Well, for one, George Lucas talking about a "character film" scares the living crap out of me.

I sense another Superman Returns coming.
