I'm a bit confused about the Tsunami CD label. Are they bootlegs? I see their CDs all the time in record stores and on Amazon, but at FSM (and a few other places) I've seen things to suggest they're bootlegs. Can someone enlighten me?

In the USA perhaps, not in Germany and England I think.

That's all that truly matters.

Seriously I would e-mail Lukas Kendall at FSM or Douglass Fake at Intrada for a true answer, copyright laws are probably different in each country.

I come from germany. The Tsunami Label is legit in germany, because they have paid GEMA (rights). Germany belongs to EU, that means, the CD is legit in europe.

In USA, the label is a bootleg, because they do not own the rights in the US.

I hope, I could help you.

Well officially released CD's can be bootlegs if the company who released them do not actually own the rights to the music.

I gotcha. Sort of like that Spanish 2-CD release of Alien that was limited to 500 copies?

Of course! My brother has got that edition and it is a printed CD-R.

I have a CD-R of it too, I made it myself using the isolated score on the DVD.

I laugh every time I see that silly auction on eBay for close to $200.00 per set.

Really? I thought they were also in England.

I bought both Tsunami CDs (Fitzwilly and Wie Klaut Man Eine Million :| ) from Tower Records in London. So, legit in England.

Indeed - both CD's freely available to order (or buy in the biggest stores) in li'l old UK.....
