robthehand 3
I'm a bit confused about the Tsunami CD label. Are they bootlegs? I see their CDs all the time in record stores and on Amazon, but at FSM (and a few other places) I've seen things to suggest they're bootlegs. Can someone enlighten me? #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
They are concidered bootlegs in some countries, while in others you can find them for sale in record stores. The truth is probably somewere in the middle.
Morlock 9
From what I've heard, the truth is probably closer to bootleg than not.
Ollie 859
Yes they are considered bootlegs.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
In the USA perhaps, not in Germany and England I think.
Morlock 9
Really? I thought they were also in England.
Ollie 859
In the USA perhaps, not in Germany and England I think. That's all that truly matters. Seriously I would e-mail Lukas Kendall at FSM or Douglass Fake at Intrada for a true answer, copyright laws are probably different in each country. Morlock 9
Best person to email on this is Dan Goldwasser over at Soundtrack.net.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
True, Kendall denounces anything even remotely suspect.
ckappes 29
I come from germany. The Tsunami Label is legit in germany, because they have paid GEMA (rights). Germany belongs to EU, that means, the CD is legit in europe. In USA, the label is a bootleg, because they do not own the rights in the US.I hope, I could help you. Unlucky Bastard 7,765
Officially released CDs can be "bootlegs" now? Now I'm crosseyed.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
Well officially released CD's can be bootlegs if the company who released them do not actually own the rights to the music.

Sort of like that Spanish 2-CD release of Alien that was limited to 500 copies?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
That was most definatly a bootleg.
ckappes 29
That was most definatly a bootleg.Of course! My brother has got that edition and it is a printed CD-R.
Unlucky Bastard 7,765
Nevertheless, it was the only way I was able to acquire the beautiful track "The Alien Suite". That really should have been a bonus track on the 1988 Silva album.
Ollie 859
Of course! My brother has got that edition and it is a printed CD-R.I have a CD-R of it too, I made it myself using the isolated score on the DVD.I laugh every time I see that silly auction on eBay for close to $200.00 per set.
