Elfman's Fable

So, I finally bought a game I've been wanting to get for a while, Fable: The Lost Chapters for PC (which has been excellent so far, by the way) and imagine my surprise when purusing the booklet that the main theme for the game was written by none other than Danny Elfman! And it's a great heroic theme, I was just wondering if anyone else has heard the piece and what you thought of it.

I tried to find some samples around the 'Net but came up empty, any help would be appreciated.

I loved the theme when I first heard it, bought the album too when it came out. The rest of the score is appropriately Elfman-esque, a lot of good stuff too.

Ha - "Elfman-esque".

I've been noticing a lot of new commercials on TV that have the Elfman-esque sound - particularly kleenex commercials and other ads which incorporate stop-motion animation.

Well, Elfman has been doing a lot of little things--likecommercials--lately.

I have the soundtrack, but there's no point in sending it toyou. If you have the lost chapters for PC... they're on your computer... Look under the game files ;-) There are actually tracks that arn't on the soundtrack :-p

I enjoy the soundtrack though... It's a little dark for just listening to for fun, but definately great for the game, not to mention the fact that the guy who wrote most of the score really captures Danny Elfman's sound from the theme... It's a really great job.

I enjoyed it. Heroic and such but the structure is alittle odd... not a normal structure lol... I guess to fit the begining credits... not that it matters... its still cool.

Fable Track listing:

01) Fable Theme

02) Oakvale

03) Darkwood

04) Witchwood

05) Lyhfield Cemetary

06) Summer Fields

07) Bowerstone

08) Arena

09) Temple of LIght

10) Hobbes Cave

11) Greatwood

12) Guild

13) Fresco Dome

There is quite a little materiel in the file, mostly incidental... but some cool extra cues

14) Chapel of Evil

15) Gaveyard Passage (Version 2)

16) Kraken Chamber

17) Temple of Light (Alternate)

Some of the files are the same song, just several names... So if youhave the game, you don't really need the soundtrack. ;-)

Actually I was looking for samples for those here who hadn't heard it yet to check out. But thanks anyway. ;)

I might pull the files out, I don't know. But there's some really good stuff in there, the composer team who worked the actual in-game score did a great job of putting Elfman's theme through its paces and writing some good music in their own right.

I agree with Fable. But do you want a similar game that is much better in almost all departments?? Try Oblivion 4. The action takes time to heat up, but this is an AMAZING game!! Music very fitting too, courtesy of Jeremy Soule.

I've played Fable the Lost Chapters in January.Music was very good.Isn't it only the Main Theme for the intro scenes Elfman composed? The actual in-game music was composed by someone else,it said so in the game credits. The problem with this game is that I finished in one weekend...other than that it was very fun,and can still be enjoyed even if you have played Oblivion, the new king of action RPG.
