Elmo Lewis 6
Finally, somebody says it out loud. It's a long read, but I wouldn't be linking to it if it wasn't worth it.Plus, it's Saturday night, most of you guys have nothing better to do.
Morlock 11
I wouldn't go that far....but it certainly is overrated. There have been better movies, better westerns, and even better westerns directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne (The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance). Morlock- who did not read the article, but is responding to the title of the page

robthehand 3
The only time I really like John Wayne is when he has a strong co-star - like in Rooster Cogburn (a really great movie) with Katharine Hepburn and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance with Jimmy Stewart, to name a few. Hitch 57
I never liked the Duke, and I never will...You could never forgive him for his miscasting as Genghis Khan in THE CONQUEROR.Little Bill Daggett - "The Duck of Death"English Bob - "That's the Duke, Bill. Quintus 5,399
In Rio Bravo he had a great co-star in Dean Martin. But thats not to say Wayne couldn't hold a movie on his own. Indeed The Shootist is his film from start to finish.

I'm not saying he doesn't have presense (quite the opposite), but he just doesn't really keep me interested. :?
