My Complete Episode I Score (restored)

I do have a mini announcement:

I found a different recording  of "Qui-Gon's Death" on the album, which has sparked some more searching into what is on there ...as no to miss anything...

I also am contemplating and including the film alternates of the Sith tracks where the choir is whispering over the music... I have the music alone tracks, but I think it would be worth having those on there as well...

Problem is, there is no more room. There is abrely enough room to include that horn intro of Darth Maul which I think I'm gonna do....

So... I'm going to remove the DVD feturette "Listen to the Music" from disk 3 and put these alternates there...

Of course, though... this begs the question...

Lord Skylark had mentioned perhaps taking ALL the interviews off of Disk 3 and creating a "Star Wars Series: The John Williams Interviews" set... which would just be interviews from John Williams...

Suggestions? Comments?

I personally don't want to take allthe interviews off of Disk 3... just the DVD rip...  It's not really needed because it's on the DVD... you need but put the DVD in to see it... and it takes up a lot of space and has the same recording of "The Great Duel" as heard on disk 2...so it seems...pointless in a way to have it........

Well just a suggestion, If you find any more alternative cues that you want to add such "Qui-Gon's Death" that you mentioned maybe seperate the interviews from Disc 3 and put it onto another disc... like Disc 4?

I think it's the music we're mostly interested in. If it helps at all, you should just jettison the interviews and use them in a seperate project, leaving these three CDs just for the actual score.

Well, I'm wrapping things up now. I've uploaded disks 1-3... and I'm finishing up disk 4...once that is finished and finalized, I will post the updated track list... and pass out the links

Right now, the files are 320 mp3's .rar'd according to disk... I'm thinking of going Flac, but I still cannot play flac on my computer. I can convert to it... but not listen to it....

I'm still working that aspect out.

But it will be released any day now.

It's a 2 hour movie.  How can there be 4 discs of music?

Have you been reading the entire thread???

Yeah everything in this thread explain why there is going to be 4 discs.

Demodex read page one.

You will see the complete tracklist for this complete score.

There are heaps of alternate cues other than the film version which is a reason why it goes for about 4 hours.

Well, first of all, put me down for this.

Secondly, I don't think disc 4 is bare at all. In my opinion it's the most interesting stuff there is, so adding more isn't necessary.

One question I have, though: why did you create a new track for every small bit of music? Of course it's more detailed and you can jump to your favourites quickly, but personally I would have edited together some cues. The Battle For Naboo I-III for instance.

But apart from that nitpick, it looks pretty nice!

I did it so people can't complain about clean endings...

Feel free to edit this how you want.

THis is really just my personal edit. If you want to, you can download it and use it to make your own edits... I won't stop you.

I tried to present everything as true to the original recording sessions as possible...

Well, just wanted to let you all know I've figured out how to get FLAC to work so that is now an option. I'm currently exporting the files as flac and going to upload them once they're done being packaged.

THe problem is I don't know what you all want... so I'm going to PM everyone who's Pm'ed me and ask "Flac or MP3" ... I will then distribute links in the order I get the answer back

Ok, I have PM'd everyone who's requested it from me. If you havn't gotten a PM, I eaither didn't get your initial request, or accidently deleted it.

So if you still want it, this goes for anyone who's just now going to request it, PM me and tell me if you want flac or MP3.

I have BOTH available.

I'm anxious to hear what people have to say so any comments... let me know.

I'm also planning on making a page on maybe geocities or something outlining each track, describing what was done and what notes I made about each track. I can't say when that'll be up, but it's another thing to look for.

I second the :Listen to the Music" problem. Also, track nine is missing from my MP3 ZIP file of disc 4 (The Story of Episode I).

I'm greatly looking forward to hearing what was done here. Thanks a million!

So far I love The Battle of Naboo. That's what I went for first. It seems like you really found how all the unreleased segments really "fit" and it doesn't feel like it's missing a yet to be discovered mystery cue.

I reuploaded disk 4...tell me if you still have problems...I honestly don't knwo what was wrong... I downloaded it myself, and went back through all the original sources of the uploads and they had tracks 9 and 10 that played... so...I dunno lol... afluke?

Yea...I'm sorry that the Flac requests are gonna take a little longer. I'm just now uploading them ... I have like another hour to go for disk 2 and then I still have to upload disk 4... so...it's gonna be a while... sorry.

Btw: How do you guys like "Augies Great Municipal Band (Film Edit)"?

And also, when you can, listen carefully during 3PO's story of Episode I. At about 1:07, you hear playing the background the Arrival at Coruscant Music. Listen carefully to the percussion if you can...it's a different percussion track than we commonly hear... so that is another alternate I spotted just today lol.

You can really tell by the double timpani hit at 1:19.

from my understanding, that is what the original end credits suite was to be like...

It's a mixture of the normal end credits intro, Anakin's Theme (the shorter alternate recording) and from Trials of Obi Wan end credits version of DOTF.

That is, atleast, how it was explained to me the original End Credist suite was to be.

It's excellent. Much better than most rips I've heard.

It's very impressive. I especially want to commend GoodMusician for tracking down all the Williams interviews.

However, I can't say that this is some sort of definitive set. Too much misplaced or misedited music. More coming up later.

You can put that on my webspace as well. Saves you the stupid advertisements.

The only thing I truely didn't like was how you split up "The Droid Invasion". There are plenty of examples of this cue being played as a whole cue. "Jedi Starfighter" and "Episode I Insider's Guide" being two examples. This is just my opinion of course...

How do you know what music is an alternate version of what piece? I mean, unless they're found labeled as such, how do you know what part of the movie an alternate version is from? And where do you even find these alternate versions?

I definitely want to listen to Discs 1 and 2 you have there. PM me how to obtain a copy. Thanks.

The various Episode I games have the alternate pieces...and it is part of the movie..we know it's an alternate because it sounds like the original piece but a bit different...
