Looks fake

I don't mean like it's a fake poster, I mean it doesn't look realistic, it looks like a screencap of a bad CGI scene

It certainly would be interesting to have a hand drawn poster for both AUJ and DoS to see how different the feel would be.

Well, according to SafeUnderHill, they already are hand-drawn, and they look better than the Indiana Jones posters.

If anything The Hobbit posters are very modern with those floating heads and often some very bad Photoshop work. Same goes for many CD covers these days where they just slap on some artwork and some random font and that's it. But not all modern posters are bad yet there is something special about those drawn by artists. Come to think of it, I would have loved some John Howe/Alan Lee work for the Hobbit posters.

Smaug's theme, it won't be long before that theme is outta the picture, so it should get atleast a few more chances to shine..

Or:

Erebor, Thorin, House of Durin, or Dwarf Lords mixed with the Arkenstone motif (and perhaps History of the Ring).

Howard: So... this scene originally music in it...

Doug: I remember you recorded a wonderful cue here, a sort of apotheosis of the House of Durin theme in the form of a three-part canon.

Howard: ... right, and Peter dialled it out in post.

Doug: Will it ever be released?

Howard: [laughs] Who knows?

Speaking of Howard, what a class act!

Same goes for that guy at the end!

Wow, that really was a great list of nominees.

The second Eye of Sauron motif looks terrific but might be too on the nose. I think some kind of forest motif could be the way to go continuing the acorn theme from the first one. ;)
