Sandor 459
Unknown in the sense that the themes from this score (especially the main theme) could (and should) have been classic, but most people will not know them. Nor this score. By no means is Michael "Fame" Gore a favorite of mine, but his music for Terms Of Endearment is truly amazing and for me the best score for such a family-drama type film. Although there must be better ways to listen to the music, here's a YouTube link of some guy playing the main theme quite adequatly:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23SEKtdeOn4...related&search=

Sergeant 1,093
It sounds just like the album cover looks : Mother and daugter having tea in bed ,talking about the same matter fourth time and the legs are lifted towars ceiling very womanly way.Not my cup of tea. Miguel Andrade 964
I believe that Erich Kunzel recorded with the Cincinnati Pops the theme in the early 90's.
Eric_JWFAN 11
I wouldn't say it is unknown to people over 40. In fact, back in the 80s if you played piano, it was a guarantee you'd be asked to play this. I'd say it is the most recognizable piano solo movie theme of that whole decade. (Again, to people who are old enough to remember when that movie was in the theatres)
Ollie 859
The film is pretty good as well.
Sixers 0
That theme is actually one of the many themes that I hum on a daily basis.
Sergeant 1,093
The film is pretty good as well.Despite of this cheesy pianomusic that movie really is pretty good. The story could be easily too sugary but the great actor-ensamble makes it work brilliantly. Morlock 9
I am very familiar with the theme, but didn't recall where it was from. I should see the film again, I remember loving it.
Red 73
I haven't seen it, but I do know of its tear-jerking reputation.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,251
This is the one with the sappy romantic piano music and were the lead actress dies, but not Love Story right?
David Coscina 3
I'm not too fond of it. It is steeped in 80's harmonies with a slight pop sound to it. Much prefer Williams' Accidental Tourist piano music. Or Michael Nyman's The Piano. I know they were composed at different times for different films but I could never get into the sound of Terms of Endearment. If I want to listen to that soft pop-jazz I'd take Dave Grusin's On Golden Pond or else The Fabulous Baker Boys (main theme).

Morlock 9
Or Michael Nyman's The Piano. I used to love this, but, upon seeing the film, I can't hear the score without thinking about the film, which I found to be quite terrible. Although I am only human, and can't pass up a phenominal track like 'The Promise'.
