Which Williams Scores Suit Their Films Best?

For me there are two Williams scores that really stand out as a brilliant blend of music, visuals and other sounds. This isnt' asking for your favourite Williams score, more like which compliments its film the most?

I can't choose between The Fury and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. In each case, when I watch the movie, I just can't separate the music from the film in my mind, and I'd say that's a great compliment to the composer.

Other examples, for me, are Memoirs of a Geisha and JFK.

Have you seen John Goldfarb?

The first 30 minutes, yes.

But I was just using it as an example - it just seems a little strange to suggest that all his scores (with the exception of SPR and AOTC) are equally effective. But maybe that's just me.

My choice:The Empire Srikes Back.Perfection.

How come about half an hour of score ended up on the cutting room floor then?

- Marc, who thinks ESB was poorly spotted and rightfully cut down.

Still, the music is in the film enhances every scene to spine chilling proportion and the movie is like a true opera, unlike Jaws,in which the pirate music can seem a bit out of place at times, even though it sounds cool .
