Please Help Me Identify This Piece!

This is a piece of music that I have been trying to identify for years. I have heard it in all sorts of advertisements and movie trailers, some of which include a "Young Indiana Jones" trailer, a Disney's "Hercules" trailer, and more recently an Incredibles Pringles commercial. I've got no clue where it came from or who composed it, but I would really like to find out. Here's a sound clip I found from the Pringles commercial.

Anyone recognize it?

It could just be something that was written for a commercial and the re-used.

While it could be a Horner piece it doesn't really sound like anything I've heard in his scores.

Indeed.

I'm pretty sure this is from a movie - I did some investigation on it a few years back and vaguely remember finding results. However, the movie must not have been memorable if I can't think of what it is now.

Someone here is bound to know what it is though...

"Reach For The Stars." That's it! You have no idea how long I've been trying to find that! :sleepy:

Now that I know the name, I did a search and found this.

I'm not sure offhand what the other piece is, but here is a copy of the trailer for reference. (It is a rip from a VHS via a tv-tuner so the quality is very poor, but it is enough for a reference anyway.)

Oh, I actually have the video that has it :D . But it's good that it's up there for other people just in case someone recognizes it.

Slightly off-topic, I really love that trailer. It's nicely done, very exciting! I believe there are some alternate takes as well, like the part where young Indy is at the camp-fire. I think that was actually a better take than the one that got used.

I actually haven't seen many of the Young Indy videos. The ones I did see were back when they were still being played on TV. I'd like to see them all at some point though.

There's been a fair amount of talk of them releasing the whole series on DVD. I understand that they definitely have worked on it, if not finishing it, and I believe they are waiting to release them until around the time Indy IV comes out. So hopefully they should be available sometime next year.

I've seen a handful of them, and they're very enjoyable. I look forward to being able to see more.

Yeah... :D

Honestly, when I signed up here I was in a period where I was really in a BTTF phase, and I couldn't think of anything other than Delorean for screennames. If you could just convert screennames, I'd go with musicman, but alas, it's not worth building a new reputation and a new post count.

Actually I talk to K.m.

Sooo, you want me to believe 2 different people obsessed with Deloreans are also obsessed by the same clip of music from an obscure trailer?

So you want me to believe two people obsessed with Kings are two different people?

:D

And I'm surprised more people aren't obsessed with finding this piece. It's awesome.

Actually I now believe that cats are actually part of an alien race, far more advanced then us. They were send out as scouts a few hundred years ago to see if Earth is fit for their conquest and if mankind is easy to enslave.

These schouts are known to us as the domestic house cat.

Personally, I've always liked the theory that in the Garden Of Eden there were only the "big" cats. Lions, Tigers, etc.

After Adam and Eve sinned and ate the fruit, God gave us house cats as part of the curse. :D

I've had to get used to cats. We used to have a cat when I was a little kid, and she did not like me. A lot of times she would try to hit me if I tried to get past her. She was declawed, but it still freaked me out.

As far as the piece goes, I've loved it since I was a kid, so there may be some nostalgia in it. I don't really see the generic thing, though. I find it fun and exciting. Oh, well. To each his own.

Oh , this piece . After hearing it in many commercials , I have always wondered what it is.

For me , it sounds quite good , better than film music usual does .Most of it I don't like at all.

Thanks
