Spider-Man 3 Scenes in HD

Anyone check these "exclusive" scenes? The action is alittle more on the darker side, I think. Is the music by another composer this time? I recognized some themes, but the action music was not really Elfman to me...

The music from the first scene with Peter and Mary Jane is one of Elfman's cues from one of the other two Spider-Man scores.

The music with Peter and Aunt May is also one of Elfman's cues from I think Spider-Man 2.

The music with the Peter and Harry fight scene is definitely NOT Chris Young's music. I emailed Dan Goldwasser (owner of soundtrack.net) and asked him about it and he said it's not from his score since Chris Young is right in the middle of recording the score right now.

To be honest, these ultra-frantic mid-air fight scenes don't really have an effect on me anymore. It's just so much craziness all at once....post-classical intensified continuity taken to the next level.

I hope that this film will be good. It'll probably end up being the last one either way, though.

Last I heard, Avi Arad said the series would continue with or without Raimi, Dunst, and Maguire. David Koepp has been in talks to write #4. Of course words are cheap in Hollywood.

I actually can't believe the music in the Peter vs Harry scene isn't Chris Young. The screeching brass and instrumentation is typical Young, and the part where Harry slams Pete into the wall is a direct variation of the Goblin theme. Strange.

It had better end if those three aren't attached. Without them, there really is no point.

Yeah, it'll end up like the 3rd/4th Batman films. :)

Yeah, because they are so much alike..bowdown

I could see Spiderman going on without Toby and Dunst as long as the films are cast correctly. Spiderman is masked so it's not like I associate a face with the character. And Dunst really isn't that attractive to me.

Christopher Young is doing the score for Spidey 3, but using Elfman's themes.

There were themes in the first two scores? bowdown

Even more of the terrible CG camera work and I'm not a fan of Harry in his paintball gear

I am excited for Venom however since he's looked amazing in all of the leaked stuff that's come out

This smacks of the Superman Returns internet promo hype. Show half the film before it hits the cinemas and leave the audience wishing they hadn't bothered downloading in the first place.

Of course there were you dolt. If you had listened to the scores you would have heard them.

And you also like the Pirates Of The Carribean score, right?

What the hell do those two scores have in common? Elfman's scores are the best superhero ones done in this last craze.

Right... :o

Roald obviously you've never heard the complete scores (let alone the OST's) for Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. You need to have someone on this board who does have them ( I have em' but I aint sending them) and PM you download links for them.

You're critizing a score you've never even heard yet... :o

Except for Powell's X-Men: The Last Stand which beats the shit out of, well, almost anything that came out last year, and earlier superhero scores in particular.

- Marc, who's yet to really warm up to Elfman's Spider-Man scores.

You liked X-Men - The Last Stand that much? It sounded adequate in the film, but left me with no desire to listen to the score away from the film.

I think it's actually a bit overbearing in the film, but it rocks on album. I love it. My second favorite score of 2006 (only beaten in November by Casino Royale).

What makes you so sure I haven't heard the scores? :o

Well you questioned that they didn't have any themes so that kind of implys (to me at least) that you haven't heard the scores.

There's the love theme

The Goblin Theme

Spider-Man Theme

Peter Parker Theme

Doc Ock theme

There's themes in both Spider-Man scores, if you have listened to them and haven't picked them out then well... I have no comment.

As good as it is, it is really disturbing to me that it's one of the best scores of an entire year.....

I don't think this film will be as boring as Superman Returns.

That just shows how poor film music has become.

Yeah, it takes a while for the Spider-Man scores to sink in. But they make for a very interesting listen once you've figured out what is going on narrative and musically. And of course, the complete score is a better listening experience. Way better.

-Ross, who has not heard X-Men: The Last Stand yet.

Well, I'm looking forward to the score by Chris Young - after his amazing work on the cue "Runaway Train" for Spiderman 2, which I think is one of the most innovative and powerful action cues written in the last decade by a composer other than John Williams. I'm also a fan of Elfman's original scores so I'm looking forward to seeing what Young does with those themes.

It's clear that Spider-man does have numerous themes, but they're really not very impressive, melodically. It's more of how Elfman uses them within constantly shifting harmonies and chord progressions. I guess that's kind of true of many of Elfman's themes.

It's not as good as Casino Royale's score? Thanks Marc, you just saved me $15.

I found Elfman's scores enjoyable. The themes don't jump out and grab you, except for Dr. Octopus, but they are there.
