drod400 0
Anyone check these "exclusive" scenes? The action is alittle more on the darker side, I think. Is the music by another composer this time? I recognized some themes, but the action music was not really Elfman to me...Scenes
Trent B 337
The music from the first scene with Peter and Mary Jane is one of Elfman's cues from one of the other two Spider-Man scores. The music with Peter and Aunt May is also one of Elfman's cues from I think Spider-Man 2.The music with the Peter and Harry fight scene is definitely NOT Chris Young's music. I emailed Dan Goldwasser (owner of soundtrack.net) and asked him about it and he said it's not from his score since Chris Young is right in the middle of recording the score right now. Ray Barnsbury 8
To be honest, these ultra-frantic mid-air fight scenes don't really have an effect on me anymore. It's just so much craziness all at once....post-classical intensified continuity taken to the next level.Ray Barnsbury
Mr. Breathmask 555
Yes, that's what I thought. Effects work looks rubbish, too.Christopher Young is doing the score for Spidey 3, but using Elfman's themes.
Red 75
I hope that this film will be good. It'll probably end up being the last one either way, though.
bondo 33
Last I heard, Avi Arad said the series would continue with or without Raimi, Dunst, and Maguire. David Koepp has been in talks to write #4. Of course words are cheap in Hollywood.I actually can't believe the music in the Peter vs Harry scene isn't Chris Young. The screeching brass and instrumentation is typical Young, and the part where Harry slams Pete into the wall is a direct variation of the Goblin theme. Strange. Red 75
It had better end if those three aren't attached. Without them, there really is no point.

Ollie 1,059
Yeah, because they are so much alike..I could see Spiderman going on without Toby and Dunst as long as the films are cast correctly. Spiderman is masked so it's not like I associate a face with the character. And Dunst really isn't that attractive to me.

Quintus 5,399
This smacks of the Superman Returns internet promo hype. Trent B 337
Roald obviously you've never heard the complete scores (let alone the OST's) for Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. You need to have someone on this board who does have them ( I have em' but I aint sending them) and PM you download links for them. You're critizing a score you've never even heard yet... Elfman's scores are the best superhero ones done in this last craze.Except for Powell's X-Men: The Last Stand which beats the shit out of, well, almost anything that came out last year, and earlier superhero scores in particular.- Marc, who's yet to really warm up to Elfman's Spider-Man scores. Mr. Breathmask 555
I think it's actually a bit overbearing in the film, but it rocks on album. I love it. My second favorite score of 2006 (only beaten in November by Casino Royale).

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
It's not all the composewrs fault though. Big, reconisable themes appear to be out of vogue.Directors tend to think of them as corny.

But they make for a very interesting listen once you've figured out what is going on narrative and musically. And of course, the complete score is a better listening experience. Jacck 23
Well, I'm looking forward to the score by Chris Young - after his amazing work on the cue "Runaway Train" for Spiderman 2, which I think is one of the most innovative and powerful action cues written in the last decade by a composer other than John Williams. I'm also a fan of Elfman's original scores so I'm looking forward to seeing what Young does with those themes.
Ray Barnsbury 8
It's clear that Spider-man does have numerous themes, but they're really not very impressive, melodically. It's more of how Elfman uses them within constantly shifting harmonies and chord progressions. I guess that's kind of true of many of Elfman's themes.Ray Barnsbury
