Ollie 1,059
Yeah he also scored a little film called Star Wars, you might have heard of it.

MrScratch 294
I'm surprised Superman II wasn't brought up in part II. It seems he would have scored it had Donner stayed on.
Morlock 11
What's there to tell, though?
MrScratch 294
What's there to tell, though? What's there to tell about any of the film John wound up NOT scoring? Yet they all got mentioned along with the circumstances on why Williams left. He says Williams tended to back out of productions that wound up being distasters. Superman I & II weren't disasters by any stretch but they were still troublesome productions.Jeff
Quintus 5,399
At the same time he [Williams] was serving as a session pianist, working FOR rising composers (Jerry Goldsmith, on 1960's Studs Lonigan)Again, this explains Goldsmiths later bitterness
Morlock 11
Yup. Piano envy. A common cause for strife in the film scoring world.

Lurker 5
No need to be insulting, besides, it seemed redundant since it's on the main page. You are looking there, right?Neil
Morlock 11
No, I am not. and I was not being insulting. I could not get away with being so brief and to the point. It was a decidedly Neil-ish post.
