Which is better, Jaws or Jaws 2? I personally prefer Jaws 2 over Jaws. While Jaws has the shark theme, most of it seems to be dead music. Jaws 2 is alive with breathtaking action pieces, beautiful harp solos, and exhilirating, fun pieces. This is my first poll, so if something goes horribly wrong, I'm sorry.

Jaws. Jaws 2 is a wonderful score in it's own right, but Jaws is...Jaws. The repetative statements of the shark theme in the first half do start to wear a bit thin, but the change in tone to the pirate music takes care of that problem.

the only thing that went wrong was you said most of Jaws seems to be dead music. Jaws is alive and adventurous and the best pirate music in a non pirate movie.

Jaws

Partly because I haven't heard Jaws 2, but also because it's one of the best film scores of all time.

Never in all his thousands of posts has Joe spoken more truthfully.

Indy4 should be ashamed of itself.

"Jaws" in a context of the film, "Jaws 2" without the context of the movie. The first one is a perfect score, but I find it rather tediuos to listen to the whole on an album. The second one works much better on cd, but nowhere as good in the movie as the former.

you probably don't have the original soundtrack, but one of the newer versions that is a less enjoyable listening experience.

Exactly. I have a Collector's Edition. I once counted the number of cues I really enjoy on that album and found out I like only the half of it. The rest, of course, works fantastic in the picture, but not necessarilly out of it.

I think the 25th Anniersary version is a great listen. Even though the first half is loaded with the shark theme, it never sounds the same each time it's played.

Indeed. Chrono order is always best. Period.

bullshit, not when the original Jaws soundtrack is still out there

Jaws is the better movie.

It shouldn't even have to mentioned, Jaws is a great film.

Yeah, Jaws 2 sucked as a movie. Jaws was excellent.

Both are great, but Jaws is the winner. The seafaring music is what makes each score for me, and I just love tracks like "Out to Sea," "Sea Attack Number One," and "One Barrel Chase" from Jaws, and "The Catamaran Race," "The Open Sea," and "End Titles/End Cast" from the sequel. Such fun, sunny music.

Yes Jaws 2 sucked as a movie , the score not so good except the Boat attack and the Big Jolt unlike Jaws which was Awesome! both the movie and the score. You just cant get the same feel or whatever with Jaws 2 as Jaws. JAWS eats Jaws 2 Whole! and still hungrey eats Jaws 3+4 ( below )

No, I think it's some kind of surreal or experimental writing.

Beatniks loved that.
