ChuckM 1
I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is any connection between Jeremy Soule and MV? I've noticed that a good bit of his music has the MV style to it. Also, the first track of Oblivion is pretty much a direct rip from PotC. Anyone else noticed this? Henry B 49
I've read some biographies and personal blurbs about Soule, and, no, there isn't any connection. I think you have a point that Soule's music can be similar to MV's. Actually, though, I think Soule has one of the most unique voices in music these days. The problem is that he is so true to his voice his music is often repetitive. At his best, though, he's an excellent and original composer. Anyone else noticed this?Actually its the other way around. That theme is Soule's Elder Scrolls theme which he also used in the previous game, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Morrowind was released a year before the first POTC movie. PS: There is a short audio sample of the Morrowind theme in the link.
AI 0
Jeremy Soule has used the same method of creating a library of sounds capturing orchestra samples as Hans Zimmer did. That's likely why they sound similar.
