I've picked the most popular film/tv music, from what I've heard, to the general public.

THIS POLL IS NOT ABOUT PERSONAL PREFERENCE! Just vote for which one YOU think most people know about.

In order, here's what I think:

1. The Murder

2. Theme from Jaws

3. The Imperial March

4. Star Wars Main Title

5. James Bond Main Theme

6. The Raiders March

7. Theme from Mission: Impossible

8. Theme from Pink Panther

9. Main Title March from Superman

10. Chariots of Fire

11. Flying from E.T.

12. He's a Pirate

13. Hedwig's Theme

14. Tara's Theme

I've done this poll before...

But anyway, I think it would very much depend on location, as to what was the most recognized.

Overall, probably James Bond, then Mission Impossible. The rest would be quite a way behind.

I voted for Chariots of Fire, every man and his blind granny knows that one.

not really,Chariots of Fire is not exactly a film that has permeated public conciousness.I'd say Star Wars is more known than Chariots. And Jaws is more known than Star Wars

dangit i forgot 2001: A Space Odyssey

Huh? I don't think the general public is even slightly aware of North's score. And Pink Floyd doesn't count.

and Overture from Phantom.

What's Phantom?

This has to be either Jaws (which got my vote) or Psycho. Each one has entered the public consciousness as an iconic almost sound-effect type of image that transcends the original movie for which it was composed. Most people know the Psycho knife-thrusting motif even though they have never seen the film, and may not even know that's where it comes from. Same goes for Jaws.

Well, that would apply to the Pink Floyd song, then...
You mean Vaughan Williams' symphony no 2... ;)

Nowadays, you hear He's A Pirate virtually everywhere.

Thankfully not here...at least not yet.

i don't even know what that sounds like, and if I'd hear it,I'd probably think "oh,another generic MV power anthem"

I heard PotC crap during one of the golf majors this year, either the British Open or the PGA. Doubly sad considering their favorite piece to use a few years earlier was The Patriot.

Were is Sandy Courage's theme from Star Trek, were is the theme from Star Trek TNG?

If you are gonna include TV music then do it right!!!

Dumbest poll ever!

Steef, you have already voiced concern in my polls, saying that you'de

rather eat glass then vote in this poll!

In case you haven't noticed, nobody else is whining about this poll, and because you have already done so in a previous poll, I really don't care.

I'm sorry, do I have to be nice to a new poster, who so far has not shown to have capabilities beyond that of an olive?

His posts are silly and I think I should be entitled to point that out to him. I'm not using cuss words, you know!

01 - Personal attacks or offensive language will not be allowed. Please be RESPECTFUL of one another, allow for differences in opinions, and please don't make anyone feel that they cannot post their views in this forum.

Also, common courtesy.

I'm just saying.

31 out of 36 posts have nothing against this poll. You are in the minority. It seems that your 6 billion posts aren't helping you win arguments anymore.

Please observe that I made no attack on this person in this thread. I merely stated that his poll was flawed, which is in no way an attack on his character, such as it is.

You're posts seem to contradict yourself, Grandest Master.

Okay, fine. But the fact stand that you were not insulting my poll, but myself.

And I wasn't aware that if we made a mistake, we were roasted and hated.

Then I was simply right, naturally...

Anyway, I except your apology.

I'm afraid that 6 billion posts doesn't make you a good person in my book, but it may in others. And I am still awaiting your apology. And I don't give you my apologies, because I have done nothing wrong.

Hmm...this is a tough one.

The Murder

Theme from Jaws

Star Wars Main Title

Theme from Mission: Impossible

Theme from Pink Panther

All come to mind but I have to go with Star Wars.

What...exactly do I have to apologize for?

As far as I know I have not attacked you in any way.

It's permitted to be critical, you know...

You're kidding, right?

Go suck on a lemon!

Besides, let him be in the beginning, hoping he'd smart up, like QMM, Justin and that Barnsbury chap.

And that's just from one thread, in one day!

Well that's a stupid excuse! I could say anything is a point of view, then.

I could say that your quantity of posts makes you arrogant, and call it a point of view.

You're going to have to come up with a snappier comeback than that!

And go suck a lemon is a command.
